can the Schluze 32.55 K handle the current needed for the Ion ? or is it being pushed too hard ? i have one in my 90 sized pattern plane, and i really like it, but was told that it's a bit small for the Ion ?

I can thermal the 32.55k in my ION everytime But not the hacker i have yet to see it thermal
I have even seen chris thermal it ias well.I have tried differant settings and everytime i throw it into a inverted funnel it shuts down. So i sold all my 32.55k
And only run the hackers. For basic sport flying they both work well

my 2cents

Hey Bobby,

Did you ever run it with the 32-3? You blew them off when you still had the 15XL in it didn't you.

My 32.55 runs considerably warmer with a 15xl in it. Don't know why and the motor's got some serious guts but the ESC runs hotter just like the motor does

I haven't been able to shut it down yet. I have a small cooling fan on it for the high 90 to low 100s temps we've been having.

Everything gets hot in 6 to 8 minutes of flying but my 32.55 has been coming off cooler than the motor which pulls 140 to 150 and the 10s3p packs at 130 at least.

These guys aren't killing their Hackers from thermaling. It just can't handle restarting if the motor is still turning, something the 32.55 has no problem with.

Actually AL i was flying the 32.55k's wiht both 32-3's since day one i have had a actro in my ION. I tried the 15xl in the second one i bought and it lasted about 5 flights and was switched over to the 32-3 also Thats when i started playing the Hacker 77-o esc's. I just sold my last 32.55k for 225.00 it was sitting in my drawer for months

I understand about the restart issue but i do auto's all teh time wiht my IONS and never have a problem. The thingis trying to restart its a slow start so kind of useles in my eyes

Dont worry TABB that esc works fine! I got it from Schulze when my 40.70 burnt up and they offerd me a big 30% discount on something new :arggg: thats gave me 3 of them
To answer youre ? no its never been thermaled as it was in my spare ION when i was waiting on a hacker wiht software problems

Man you guys need a electronics course i have delt wiht electronics for over 20 years just becuase it thermals doesnt mean it is hurting the ESC it is no differant then a amplifier shutting down becuase it gets to hot.

That is its own protection so the Esc dont get burnt up

Hey Bobby,

Didn't mean to put you on the spot.

What I know is that I haven't been able to blow mine or thermal it yet. Maybe the cooling fan is all it needed.

But I also know there are some guys who probably can. I have seen a guy, real good pilot, but hard on the sticks who can break Vigors on regular basis. There is a guy around here who is pretty hard on Furys too.

So all that being said I really want to see these Phoenixes work out.

The Schulze is expensive and maybe marginal with lousy warranty service.

The Hacker has had issues since they first got Jeti to build them a heli ESC and they apparently still do have some fatal problems.

Maybe Patrick has come up with an affordable ESC that really works in all situations.
