I've had a lot of issues with fly cam one v2. I'm hoping that someone here may be able to help :)

A little back story... #1 that got, wouldn't record onto the card, connects to the pc just fine, and can use it as a web cam, view the sd card etc. Returned it to hobby lobby, and with their great customer policy, they sent me a second one. #2 new cam did record onto the card just fine, and able to grab vids off, but it would shut itself off in just a few minutes, even after a full charge. If you stopped recording before it shuts off, everything is cool. But if it shuts off, the video is lost. So I returned that one back to hobby lobby as well, never got #1 of 2 off the ground.

SO.... I'm on #3, and was able to do some sport flying around, as well as use it as a hat cam... but this one has a catch too. Sometimes when you start a video recording, it would get stuck in recording mode, and can not be stopped. Neither one of the buttons do anything, it just keeps recording. The only thing that I could do is to power it off, in which case that particular video is lost (keeps all other videos)

This symptom would happen maybe about 1/6 of the time, and it doesn't seem to matter if it was a long or short video.

Other than that, I am really pleased with flycamone v2, very happy with the quality of the video! has anyone else have had this problem? Am I the only one who has been having so many problems with them???

The only problem I'm having with mine is getting the card to lock into the slot. I have to use something like a screwdriver to push it in far enough to lock in place. I almost sent that one back before I figured it out. Everything else is working fine, so far...

Did you update your firmware to V3.03? I think the older firmware that is in the camera had quite a bit of problem. Click here (http://www.flycamone.de/download/FCO2_3.03.zip) to download the V3.03 firmware, then follow the procedures in this post (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9548448&postcount=247) to update the firmware.

Well after downloading the latest software, and fiddling with this flycam, I am convinced it is a pile of S***, after recording for 20 minutes or so I couldnt stop it from recording (again), so I just let it keep recording until it ran out of space, took it home and tried to download the video, just to get a "no new pictures or videos were found on this device" I am totally frustrated with this "so called" camera !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah no cigar for me neither... thanks for the link gregwee, I've updated the firmware before, but went through it again and followed that thread instructions step by step. Everything installed successfully with no issues.

So it's still doing the same thing. It will sometimes record and stop, and other times it will not stop, only solution is to power off and loose that particular video. After the firmware update, it's still doing the same thing, and the only pattern that I can pick out is that it now happens more often with longer videos. If I start and stop right away, it almost never get into that unable to stop mode. If I start it and let it record for about 5 mins - my usual flight pack time, there is roughly 1/6 of the time that this happens. There isn't a problem with the stop button, as you need to use it to start it, and there is never a problem starting. Battery level looks fine, it will do it even when the battery shows full. Seems to be a software glitch or something.... I've also tried it on video endless mode, and same thing happens.

I really want to love this thing, the recorded quality is awesome when it actually keeps them :(

I think both of you are unfortunate victims of the poor quality control on the FCO2.. I guess that in this case, you'll have no choice but to send it back to the vendor for replacement..

OK problem solved... I think :)

I switched out the SD card with another, and have now recorded around 20 clips, all over 5 mins long. They all stopped with no problem. This was happening 1/6 times before, so 0/20 is pretty good, but will keep testing.

The cards that I've been using were: 2GB Raidata lightning series. I have 2 of them that I was using, both had issues with stopping.... haven't had any problems with them in other devices. The one that I am using now I took out of my cell phone, and is a micro SD, and I used a micro SD to SD adapter, and is 1GB.

So... Chris, what SD card are you using? and have you tried different SD cards?

and gregwee... what SD card are you using that you haven't had issues?

This is not to say that FCO2 has no problems... the previous ones that I've had, had different issues. So I am hoping that this one is going to work well now :)

I've been following this thread and kept wondering if it might be a memory card issue. I've never had any of these issues that you are having, but I've never tried to record anything for more than about 5 minutes, then I download it.

I personally think that memory cards should be bought with the same reasoning as anything else in this hobby; you get what you pay for. Cheap is cheap, no matter how you add it up. I usually stick with names like Sandisk for any memory card or stick application, because I don't want to lose any data.

For what it's worth, I happen to work in the semiconductor industry. The memory chips that have poor yield statistics, or were misprocessed in some way are sold to whoever will buy them, usually at a loss. It's better than throwing it all away. These chips are usually used for such things as answering machine memory or cheap thumb drives, etc. The "perfectly processed" chips are sold the original customer that placed the order with certain guarantees of their performance.

I'm using a 2GB Toshiba Class 6 (20mb/s or 133x) (http://www.toshiba.co.jp/p-media/english/sd/card/ha-index.htm) SD card in the FCO2.

crabfu : I dont know what card I have (Ill look when I get home) but its the one I got from Hobby Lobby, do you believe it will take care of the problem of not stopping in the recording mode?

Thanks for the reply guys. Yes... with the new SD card that I am using, the can't stop recording issue has NOT happened at all. I've tested it out a gazillion times last night, kept recording 5 min + clips over and over, and I did several successful recordings with it today as a hat cam while flying :) I'll look into getting a better SD card (thanks again gregwee), as I need the card that I am using back in my cell :)

So don't give up on it just yet Chris, may want to test it out with another SD card :)

You will need a card with at least 9MB write speed and a 10MB read speed. It's preferable to go with one that is actually at 20MB or higher speed. The one gregwee mentioned or a Sandisk Extreme III SD will both work great. Lexar Professional series is supposed to be good, also, but I've never used one.

Thanks, will look for one of the recommended cards soon, I love using it as a hat cam, so I can study my bad fights :)
