Sokal,
There is a difference in the 400 and trex heads right. The 400 is pull to pitch and the trex is push to pitch. But I think they can be interchanged, not sure coz they look different in some angles. Sorry I don't really know helis that much still taking baby steps today.

I was gonna say, I'm pretty happy with my stock 400, not only does it fly pretty good, I can definately find parts for it in most convenience stores in southern Utah and Peaslake Oregon ;-)
Lockmd, you got a Rex 600, Electric? Share dude!!

"no more bean oil, ever.."
Now New and Improved with...
T-Rex v2 se (maiden flight this weekend)
Blade 400 (stock)
GAUI 200 (in boxed form)
40hp CP-Pro (unbelievably still flying well)
Walkera 4#3 (you figure out thier naming convention, and you win a prize)

No, its an E-Smart 600 (really 550) Still building, taking a bit longer than expected. It is electric. I've already broke 2 parts and never spun it up yet LOL this is gonna be a while in the making.

Just remember that CNC adds weight.
Part of the reason the B400 flys so well is because of it's light weight and it's design around that weight.
But for you flatlanders it's not a huge problem.
For me at 8,000FASL, well that's a different story.
I have to admit that this is about the only reason I sometimes wish I didn't live here.

Too bad they do not give the weight on the items. I am new to adding hop up parts, aka bling, but I would think the weight would be a consideration.
Right now, I am all about learning to fly it. Then I will make it look good. But there have been some good comments, such as some parts could improve flying ability and some parts would be better as weak points. As I am trying to learn the name and purpose of all the parts, in say the head, can anyone direct me to a good diagram that details all the parts and their names, and maybe even their function? And not the exploded view in the manual. I am finding all sorts on newbie info but have yet to find a well drawn and noted diagram.

Yes they are from the cnc site and I am still a tad nose heavy so a little tail weight will be welcomed.

Wolfpackin,
Just lost my reply, crud... back to the keyboard!
Sorry to hear 'bout that, 90degree days must be a challenge!
Says lots about our equipment now, that you can fly at all though...
Try adding POWER!, and blade area, not necessarily diameter, area is key.
Add lightness, and simplicate. This I know.

"....we're topped out, not gonna make it... ... jeez that's 11thousand..... yep, we been here for ten minutes...

Gr4y,
The B400 actually flies really well up here although I did have to up my head speed, throttle curve, to hover at 3/4 stick with a linear pitch curve.
But I've learned from my other heli's that weight plays an important role so I want to keep it light.
That said, I was able to fly with 75g training gear but the heli was very sluggish and unresponsive.
I'd like to keep any mods to around 35-40g.
In the near future I'll probably try a 2250mAh battery that will add about 30g. I'm curious how that will go.
BTW, I've got a lot of that gray stuff in my large moustache.

Also, keep an eye out for the upcoming MicroHeli parts.
The aluminum they use is very light and they usually post weights for the parts.
