Those look nice. Would the extra weight help or hurt?

It actually weighs less? :wow2:

You think they will do the washout eventually?

A shiny blue swash plate would be nice to look at too.

On second thought, It's hard to look at the Align head for $65 and then look at the Esteem for $76.

Seems a little pricey for a Incomplete CNC head. The "important" parts that really need to be CNC are missing. Well, they did the Head Block. But the control arms and Swash are better off CNC then the others.

head, grips, flybar cage are what need to be cnc. the compos swash is ok but could use full cnc. the mixing arms are better plastic as it keeps a week spot to absorb the energy in a crash.

I like the underswung flybar personally, i have flown my share of plastic headed trex's and i dont think they fly as well as the stock b400. That would be the only thing holding me back from geting a trex head, seeing as I already have the align tail on it. Of course thats just my opinion. And also the cnc aluminum parts are heavier than plastic. Its a trade off.

I disagree with that. The mixing arms are IMHO where you would want the CNC more then anywhere. These pieces are small and thin and bend easily under stress. So changing them out to CNC would increase the performance.

I am not basing my opinion on crash survival. I look at it from a perfromance stand point. CNC Blade Grips and a CNC flybar will not improve performance like cnc mixing arms.

I do not follow the "design it to survive a crash" mentality. If you do, then CNC Grips and Flybars would be the place for CNC. I am a "design it to fly" kinda guy"

I couldn't agree more with these statements. I have had both Plastic and CNC Trex Heads and I personally find the B400 stock head to be better then both of them. I have NO desire to put a Trex Style head on my B400. The only chance my B400 has of getting an upgraded head is when Eflite comes out with the CNC Hop-Ups, and then only if I feel it needs it. So far, I see no reason to upgrade the head.

I was told by MicroHeli to expect B400 parts from them in about 2 weeks.

I just realized what you meant jayman, the Esteem kit comes with the flybar cage arms.

The Align flybar parts are $20, that does help tip it back in the Esteem's favor.

This thread has really got me on a high now. I just went to the LHS and he sold me an Align AL tailcase. It's a AGNH1239B and fits a trex450 but the guy said it should fit my 400 OK.

Anybody tried it? Does it work OK?

We pondered all the main rotor parts and almost got to experimenting with putting 450 parts on but I didn't want to get in too deep today. I'll just wait for the right stuff to come out. Meanwhile, I'll go ahead and use this tail case unit and metal grips if anyone here says it worked OK.

This message is intended for the newbies only.

I dont wanna be a hater, but what's wrong with the stock head?

When i first started, I made the mistake of pimpin out my "learning" heli. Spent so much on it i could've bought me a Trex SE V2. I did eventually buy a Trex, and now the "learning" heli is just an expendible, mess around heli.

I believe the only essential upgrades for this machine should be:
1. Better cyclic servos
2. GY401 or 2100T Gyro and better tail servo.

But, hey, it's just my opinion. It's all about what makes you happy.

I would have to agree. I think its great in its the stock form. The only reason for the CNC head is for bling and some what for stronger parts. there are nice to have but not a necessity! To each his own!

I think the entire bird STOCK is fine - the servos, they have got to go ASAP!

But, yes, I have to have 'bling' so I ordered the purty blue tail assembly, hey it might hold better or not. I was happy with the plastic, the metal is shinny LOL

the trex style head will give you a better cyclic movement

and the cnc tail control rod is held on better and moves smother

i recomend when you at the point you are very confedent and can do all of basic flight
