Shaft drive are a little more delicate a small knock can damage them where as belts are a little more forgiving

An iteresting bit of history for you - the original protech zoom 400 was shaft driven and walkera made the 35 as a copy - later protech upgraded the zoom to belt driven tail and then walkera made the 36 as a copy of the upgraded version - because the shaft driven tail is more fragile walker has changed that to belt driven with the 35C.

i didn't know that ,i thought it was the other way around.
cause my previous (and only) electric mini heli was a walkera 64C and the belt got streched or even break when i landed on grass and the tail hit a couple of grass leaves.
i'm used to bigger helis (eolo ,raptor90) both are shaft drive, where the tail hits concrete and nothing happenes...

I used to have a V2 Shogun (belt drive tail) and the perceived wisdom was that the bevel gears for the V1 were very difficult to set up properly, wore quickly and would strip if you caught the tail in the grass. I think that the belief was that they were just too small and fragile - probably on a bigger heli they are stronger and they survive better

That's good info but, who has actualy tried the Gaui 200 tube tail???

The only info I have is that the prototype tube tail stripped gears rather quickly. This from a VERY reliable source that shall go un-named until that person decides to give up the goods.

Let's hope Gaui has the foresight to correct the problem and understand that while they may save cost and increase profit in the short term a bad tail has killed many helis.
