I have set up my t-rex nitros with swash SR-3. Having read an article in a magazine that suggested putting the aileron and elevator settings to 100%, I tried this and found much larger servo throws than by using Dual Rates or ATV. Although there is binding at 100% in idle up 2 with + and - 10 degrees.
Does anyone know whether the rates should be left at 50% or increased to get a more responsive roll/flip rate?
If not, which is better to increase the throws - Dual rates or ATV?
Hope this makes sense. Any advice would be gratefully received!!!!
Cheers

The 100% aileron and elevator are the end piont adjustments, use the Swash AFR to set the cyclic for + or - 7 deg. , I have a 600 EP the settings should be similar, they are both 120deg. swash, -20 aileron, +20 elevator, and +40 pitch, the + or - maybe different depending on your servo set up. Those settings will represent 100% in D/R, so to increase cyclic responce you can go as far as 140% D/R. The 20% cyclic is just a starting piont for me, I havn't had a chance to fly outside yet, I may increase it a little depending on how it feels, but those settings are 7deg. cyclic and 10 deg. of pitch.

Thanks for this Bigdog. Cyclic degree range is not something I considered before. I will check it now though. Thanks again.

The recommended settings for us normal pilots LOL, is + or - 7deg. cyclic, and + or - 10 deg. pitch, pro settings are 9deg. cyclic and 12deg. pitch. The way the control arms are set up on the 600, they magnify the movements of the servo making the heli very responsive, I like it far better than the servo direct set up I am used to with the 120 deg. swash.

Yeah, normal is how i would decribe my skills at the moment!! Whats the best way to measure the cyclic? Pitch gauge?

Put the collective at center stick, that should be 0 degrees. Put a pitch gauge on the main blades and check the 4 cardinal points to make sure the swash is level and the 0 doesn't change.
Then put the blades out straight front and back and give full aileron and measure the pitch, adjust the afr till you get the throw you want.
Turn the blades 90 degrees to the boom and do it again with elevator.
