Hello all,

I cannot decide what charger I should get, should it be the hyperion duo, or the tp1010 and 210 balencer combo. I only want 1 more charger that can do everything I will ever need. I am planning on getting a trex 600e soon so I will probably upgrade that to a 10 or 12s beast sooner or later. Might get trex 700e if it comes out. Idealy I want a balencer/charger in one.

Thanks

I just got the Hyperion Duo. It's awesome.

If I were you I'd get the Hyperion as well. It has more power than the 1010 and comes with balancer built in. It also costs less than the 1010 and balancer. If you're going to have an upgraded 600 12 cell machine then the DUO is the way to go, since you can charge 2 6s batts or a single battery up to 12s.

Good luck!

I got the EOS 0610 net before the duo came out and it rocks. Charges a 6s 5000 in 45 min. Hyperion knows what's goin on.

Can the Hyperion duo charge 2 6s 5000mah lipos at 2c charging rate at the same time? Also, does it need an adapter to charge flightpower batteries?

Thanks

It can charge a 6s at 10 Amps on each port, but you had better have a good power supply, to do this you will need at least a 15 Volt 30 Amp one. You will also need a couple of adapter boards for TP/FP packs (only $7 a pop).

The Hyperion Duo is 180 watts per port only when you run a 15V or higher power supply. The TP 1010C is 220 watts.

The Hyperion cannot discharge either.

Evan,

Is there a reason why in every post I've ever read of yours you always compare the Hyperion brand in a unfavorable way? I understand you doing this when comparing to the Bantam line-up as you make money every time a Bantam is sold in the US. Did Dave upset you or something?

If it comes across that way, I appologize, not meant to be that way. We also sell the Hyperions as well. I am referring to (depending on the post) is that the consumer doesn't realize some of the features or requirements prior to the purchase. For example, most don't know about the power supply requirement. It is difficult to get to the manual to read up about it. My intention was not to offend anyone at all but to inform.

At the moment, the Duo in very unique in that it is really the only true dual port model with any decent power on the market. The 610iNet unit is the lowest cost 250 watt charger, period. To get the price where it is, certain features were not included and components used to keep the price low.

I will restrtain myself more in these posts, again it was not offend anyone or the product. There are lots of good products on the market and the consumers have a great selection today than they did even a year go. More will be coming to market as well.

Evan,

If you were to stress the positives and negative equally your post's would probably be more believable ;).

I think Hyperion caught everyone on the hop with the release of the NET and DUO and they are rightly reaping the rewards of their ability to 'read the public'. I'm sure that Bantam will soon be releasing their answer to the DUO and I know it will be as well received.

Both Bantam and Hyperion make excellent products and between the two anyone can find a charging solution to suite their needs and wallet!

Is the thunder power 610c a good enough charger for a trex 600e?

No, it is not powerful enough. It is a good charger but only 80W. To charge a 6s 5000mAh pack at 1C requires approximately 120W of charger output power. You should look for chargers capable of at least 6S lipo and 150W/10A output to give you the flexibility to charge at or above 1C. Some excellent candidates include iCharger 1010B, iCharger 106B, Bantam BC6-10, Hyperion EOS0610iNET (or DUO). You might find this summary useful:+-----------------------------------+

in the same case. Simpler, more convenient, take up less bench space and
easier to transport.

--------- ------------ -------------- --------- ----- ------------- ----------- --------------------------------------------
Graupner Ultra DUO 50 multi 2x-7s x 2 ac/dc 360W/10A $530 Very impressive beast, but expensive. Integrated AC power supply
for up to 120W max output power, else run it off DC to get 180W/10A

Non-integrated charger+balancer combos
======================================
This is the older style where the balancer is an add-on accessory to the charger.
Less convenient since it means more boxes, more cables, more things to configure,
store and transport.
