Hi guys, I have aquired a Futaba GY240 Gyro and I cant get any responce out of it.

Basically I have a FUTABA TX and RX in my HBK2, ran the old original Esky gyro no problems however I have no upgraded to the 240 but can't seem to get this new Gyro to initialize, I flick on the TX then RX and I get no tail responce at all no matter how long I wait, I move rudder left to right on TX and nothing, and I can even move the servo by hand backwards and forwards on the chopper without any resistance like the servo isnt even powered.
The weird part about the situation is if I unplug then plug back in the servo to the gyro while the heli and TX are powered on the Gyro instantly moves the servo and it works as it should?

I have been through the setup instructions and I just cant get any tail responce unless I do what was mentioned?

Any ideas?

Cheers.

it sounds to me like an internal problem in the gyro. did you buy it new? maybe you should exchange it for a new 240. i'm not too keen on how they work but my guess is that there is a short in it or something.

hmmmm, bought it second hand off a guy who pulled it off his T-rex with spektrum setup fully working, just had to confirm that its the Gyro and nothing else, I figure if it cant even glitch the tail servo after plugging in the lippo to the chopper there must be something up, apparently 3secs is its start up time and ive certainly left it for longer than that with no joy what so ever.:arggg:

Ive also tried with 2 other receivers, different crystals even a different transmitter and ofcourse different servos, I think im beating a dead horse unfortunately. And if I plug the Esky gyro back in it all works as per normal.

Nothing in the TX setup can effect it can it?, Im running Futaba 8UAP Super but have also tried a 6chnl esky just incase still no go.

all it takes is for the seller to accidentally drop the gyro on the floor..

Hmmm well now im still really stumped, Gave it back to seller and he tested it on his spektrum receiver and it worked straight away and with a tiny adjustment on the gain to about 75 it is hovering perfect, so it must be some setting in my TX, can anyone think of what setting I should be looking at or playing with?

i think you have to go into the menu and turn on "gyro" and set it to "gy" for hh gyros. maybe that's just the 7c though?

Hi there,

I think I am having the same problem. I am assuming you are using the stock Esky servos, have you tried with another brand of servo on the gyro?

I am using the stock Esky TX and a brand new GY240.

Pls. let me know if you have it figured out.
