Hello All,

First let me say how great this forum is. It has helped me a lot, thanks. Here is my story. I bought a CX2 in Xmas eve and once I learned to fly it I was itching for more. I bought the B400 about a month ago and it has been a learning experience. I have read the radio and helicopter manuals and am about the read the gyro manual, but beyond that I have only read one other book on r/c helis and it's about 20 years old so please go easy on me.

I seem to be having problems with the G110 gyro that came with it. Sometimes it works okay and sometimes the tail oscillates no matter how low I set the gain. Then it will sometimes just send the heli spinning around. I had experimented with the reverse settings on the radio and gyro and thought that had solved the problem last weekend, but by Monday they had returned. At this point I'm thinking it's a bad gyro, but it's just as likely I just don't know what I'm doing. My gy401 just arrived so I should soon see. I should also mention I have training wheels on the heli that I built with CF rods and some wiffle balls. I don't think they could be part of the problem, but they do seem to shake sometimes. I'm not sure if it's the tail oscillating moving the training wheels or vice versa.

I need some help making sure I have the radio and heli configured properly. I have a Blade 400 with the DX6i and the JR DS285 and DS3400G. I will install the GY401 this evening. So far, I reversed the pitch, elevator, and aelieron settings on the radio when I switched to the JR servos. My other settings should be all they way they came.

Thro=N
Aile=n
elev=r
rudd=n
gyro=n
pitc=r

Rates and 57 and 67 currently, I have been moving them around a bit.

Swash Mix
aile=-75
elev=-75
pitch=+85

Are those the same settings others are using? I set the gy401 to DS mode, should I set the other switch to normal or reverse for the B400? Anything else I should know?

Thanks in advance :thumbup:

I had planned on posting here and waiting for a response before going out and just trying it and breaking something. Well I waited at least 10 minutes before just giving it a try. I attached the gyro with it set to DS and Normal and all the settings listed above. It works great. The new gyro made all the difference in the world. I'm not sure the stock gyro was ever working quite right after flying with this new one. Great recommendations.
