Really at a cross road here with this one. I really like both chargers, yea, 110 dollars is a bit of a differance, but the question is, justifiable? Thanks guys.

hmmm...let's see...
1. Cellpro -- you dont have to buy another balancer to charge 2 packs.
2. Cellpro -- easier to apply firmware updates.
3. Cellpro -- cheaper
4. Cellpro -- made by FMA Direct maker of the best bang for buck charger, CellPro 4s.

all i can think of right now.

and........The TP is old school. The Cellpro 10s firmware seems pretty darn nice. I am sure the hardware design is equally impressive.

They have another winner on there hands.

Yup...Cellpro10s is future proof.

Cellpro 10S... LiPo and LiFe ONLY

TP1010C... NiMh, NiCd, Pb, LiPo, LiFe

I love some of the capabilities of the 10S, but the fact it can't handle my other battery chemistries means I would still need another charger. Until it can, I need the TP1010C.

Which one is right for you probably depends on what type of batteries you need to charge. If FMA ever comes out with firmware that allows charging the currently missing battery chemistries, I'll buy one or two immediately.

> Yup...Cellpro10s is future proof.

How is it any more "future proof" than the TP1010C? Both are firmware updateable.

And if you try to charge two different size packs on the CellPro, once the smaller packs is charged, the charge rate goes down since you stop charging through the main leads.

And if you want to charge two same size packs, you can do this with a 1010C also. I charge 2 x 3S packs in series quite often.

You dont need a 9v battery to update the firmware on the CellPro.

Yes, TP1010 is a good, reliable charger too. It's like the good ol' legacy mainframe cics system.

Just bought the cellpro

1 x LC10S10ADC Cellpro Revolectrix 10s, 10 Amp Cell Balancing Charger $ 189.95
1 x FUIM2 FMA USB Interface Module for 2 way data communication $ 19.95
2 x CP10S-TP/PQ Cellpro 10S to ThunderPower or PolyQuest Adapter $ 9.95

SUBTOTAL
$229.80

bobby, the data link cable comes with the charger, and where are you getting 404.96? its 300 bucks, and most places are selling for 250 now

Ok my bad. $250 it is. I accidentally added another balancer.

If it's $250, then TP1010 is the way to go.

If you get the Tp1010, get the TP-210(10s) balancer, not TP-205(5s). That way you can charge 1 x T-600 packs, or 2 x T-450 packs (at the same time).

And you can charge 3 x Trex 450 packs on the 1010C. There is a sheet floating around on how to wire an adapter from teh 210V to the thrid pack, so you plug each pack into a separate connector on the 210V.

The Cell Pro 10S is a very nice charger. It actually will do higher watts (300 versus 220) but both are limited to 10A max.

The TP isn't ready to be put out to pasture quite yet. :)

Ya, The 10S can not do all battery chemistry's ( a compromise ). I think you guys will be impressed with how it charges a lipo though.

The TP1010 may be firmware upgradable, but the hardware really needs an upgrade.

You guys are hilarious. You act like the TP1010C is an ancient device. So a charger that can only do two closely related cell types is so superior to the TP1010C that the TP1010C needs to go out to pasture? I guess someone should tell Orbit that the Microlader should have been shot and put out of its misery long, long ago. Yet it lingers on and still sales for $350 (and is firmware updateable, too).
