View Full Version : My dx7 won't power on anymore, did I short out the battery?

Hello,

I have been enjoying flying with my dx7 for a week or so. It was low on battery so I plugged it in last night but not before accidentally plugging my crappy lippo charger power supply in to it mistakenly. I shortly plugged the correct supply into the dx7 and let it sit overnight. This morning it would not power on so I assume that plugging in the wrong PS is the culprit, but I'm not sure. The power supply I accidentally plugged in for a few seconds is rated 12v 1.5A. The dx7 proper supply is rated 11.6v 110mA. What could have gone wrong with the tx and is it something I can fix my self, such as a fuse replacement or maybe battery replacement?

Thanks

UPDATE: I found the fuse and it is in fact blown. I'm heading to radioshack now to get a replacement. I'll update again when it's installed.

UPDATE2: I got a 315mA/250v fuse from radioshack and everything is good now. Time to get my flying up to standard

Sounds like you took care of it yourself. :)

I did similar. That fuse had me stumped for a while too. :D

You'll also find that if you ever forget and leave it on, the 300mA fuse will blow before the transmitter battery is completely flat (did it twice). Sounds like a bad idea for the internal fuse to be so close to the edge to me so I went with a bigger fuse. I fast charge at 500mA, anyway.

The Correct size fuse is # 3AMP as per the Spectrum/Horizon Techs.Been there:thumbup:
