I flew my cx2 around 45ft + - today, and it acted differently, i am not sure if it was wind or anything, but to me it seemed as if it wasn't as controllable.

It just acted very sluggishly, and wobbled around a lot...

maybe it was just my nerves- i'm quite new to helis

If it was really 45ft, I'd wager to bet it was a little wind. I had similar results when I had mine outside at about 25 or 30ft. This was on a pretty calm day too.

May not be wind at all though...

Do you think you were going out of radio range? Not sure of the range.

If you have the 2.4 GHz radio it was not a range problem. I would think it was a wind issue. I have never taken mine that high, I do not want to loose it.

it couldn't have been the transmitter, it is supposed to have a tremendous range.

maybe it was just a different layer of wind, it was noticeably more turbulent than just a few feet below. It probably had to do with the surrounding buildings making an air cell or something...

The radio that comes with the CX2 is not a "full-powered" radio (for lack of a better term) and does not have nearly the range of a DX6 or DX7. I have read this on several other forums. And, having flown my CX2 out of range at about 50-feet in altitude and 75-feet distance (it dropped like a stone), I know for a fact that my airplanes have times the range with my first-generation DX6 compared to the transmitter that comes with the CX2.

I flew mine outside today at well over that and it performed great. Do note that winds can change dramatically as you go higher than trees, houses, buildings and other structures. It's most likely from varying wind conditions.

One thing I have noticed is that when I go up WAY high and start to let the heli settle back down, if I let it come down too quickly I get LOTS of strange "Teeter totter" actoin that can only be corrected with extra power. The first few times were "hairy" to say the least but now I like to do it to get a "Response" out of the people watching and hanging around.

Good luck and Happy Flying :)
