I receivetly upgraded from DX6 to a DX7 Radio and AR6100e receiver. Thought it would be painless to setup....
I've set everything so that it mechanically is the same as when I've used my DX6 radio on my Mini Titan, using stock ESC and Brushless motor.
1) I had to bind before the transmitter reacted with the new receiver. That normal?
2) The ESC does not initialize at all (motor does not turn and no beeping sounds when connecting the battery). Why does the servos & gyro work then?
3) I've managed to get all settings perfect, servos & swash moving right directions ect. but
could not get the ESC to initialise for the motor to turn? The motor does make slight almost 1 degree movement but only sometimes when giving positive throttle
I've also checked the cables from the ESC to the motor, but I had a flight just before I took out the old AR6000 receiver.
 :arggg: :( :bomb:
Confused, angry, dumb struck and ready to explode
I've bind again after the setup, but no luck. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

I have the same setup except the AR6100 but never had an issue setting it up.
The binding of the Receiver to the TX is normal and must be done for all new receivers you wish to use.
When Binding, make sure you have the throttle set to it's lowest position and you are in normal mode (0 - 100% throttle curve)
Also when you have finished setting up your heli, you should rebind the reciever so that failsafe can be set.
Here's a few things you can check if you haven't already given them a go.
Process of elimination to identify the cause
Plug a servo into channel 1 (Throttle) and see if you have full movement if that's ok move on (you'll need to plug a 4.8v rx pack into the batt channel)
Plug the Speedy back into channel 1
Check that channel 1 is not reversed. (should be set to normal)
Check you have no trim on throttle
Check normal throttle curve has 0% for L
Plug ur battery back in and see if you get the tones from the motor.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply.
The throttle curve runs L 0% - M 60% - H100%
I've just read elsewhere that the DX7 is designed to kill throttle when throttle trim is set at lowest point and set to idle at centre trim position (when used on a glow).
That then tells me it's not seeing the throttle low position to be at 0% by default and needs to be trimmed down to 0% for the ESC to initialize.
I will give both a try and let you know
THANKS!!!

Make sure you reprogram your speed controller.

Proper setup of a DX7 with a nitro doesn't run 0% at idle. The default setup does have 0% as the lowpoint on the throttle curve. Leave the throttle trim at its normal point (the top), it isn't your problem.
Power up your heli with the throttle at 100% (move the pinion away from the main gear first) and see what happens. If you get normal startup, reverse the throttle channel (I doubt this is the problem or it would be going into setup when you powered up). You're connections to the Rx must be correct and working, as you obviously have power to the servos from your post. As BH said, reprogram your ESC (by powering up at full throttle) so that it will re-read your throttle settings. After you do that, you should be golden.

Found the problem!

I had a bad spot in the throttle cable running to the receiver, cut it out and resoldered the wires. Fixed and flying again. Should I buy a new ESC later on, which is a better one to get?

Glad to hear you got it. I haven't heard complaints about the Ace ESC, so unless you're going 4S or something, there probably isn't a great need to change it. If you do, the Castle Creations ones seem pretty good. Or if you feel wealthy, the Kontroniks maybe. :P
