View Full Version : Helicopter Help in Southern CA - Elsinore Area
I'm building a TRex 450se v2.
Needless to say it's RIGHT THERE! I'm so damn close to being done that well... I'm just needing a little bit of help.
I'll buy the beer, and the gas to come over or hell I'll come to you! All I need is a bit of you time to go over what I've done, help with a bit of radio setup, etc.
If any of you would be so kind, I'd be very much in your debt.

I have a buddy named Jeremy Chadwick.
His son's name is James.
It's an omen.
If you have no help by next weekend, and want to drive to Orange County, you can meet me as a guest at the OCMA flight field and I'll set your bird up for you.

I'm about 45 mins south of you (Carlsbad) and if you wanna cruise down here, I'll be more than happy to get you and your heli dialed in. OR, you can call me for some phone help...
If you're interested, PM me..

Hi guys,
I'm in Irvine, where's the OCMA flight field. Unfortunately Ultimate Hobbies doesn't seem to have many heli guys, so don't know where to go fly. Just got my first two heli's (Blade 400 3D and CopterX). Keep me posted!

Hehe, nevermind found the "Official OC" thread! But still, where is the OCMA field? Sounds like members only.

Ok sent the PM's but I must have missed you two so far.
Anyway I'm going to pack it all up in the car and hope one of you calls me. I'm pretty much ready to head out.
Thanks again, so nice to be able and get this done!
I'll be able to fly and pick someones brain!

Sorry Jim, was off and runnin' at the crack of dawn and didn't get your PM until late this evening...
Hello all & thanks to the guys that offered to help,
One of you happens to live just a few miles from my home, but works a very odd schedule so it may be a bit till we can hook up and I can have him look over the bird. Sadly only one guy from my area responded to the post so I’m still hoping either he can get the time or someone else local will have an hour or two to spend with me.
I went ahead and drove down to a local hobby shop that had a 450se v2 pre-built. I checked out the flybar cage and… well it had the same play that mine did! So after looking at this one and speaking with Skiddz I think that I’ll be ok.
I went ahead and bought a new swashplate just for the heck of it… not sure that they go out much, but always good to have extra parts around.
I pretty much finished my build and now just need to move the gyro under the tail, mount the 6100 under that and I should be pretty much ready to go.
Thanks to the OC group that responded & too Skiddz, if I can’t find anyone closer then I’ll have to make the drive out that way.
Again thanks… I’m so close I can almost taste it!
Jim

Loki and I were able to hook up yesterday, and I was pleased to tell him that his 450 needed nothing. He'd done very good work on it, and it was flying very well. :)

You may want to try the circle city flyers off Temescul canyon or the Temecula flyers site.. maybe alittle closer to home.
