Hey freaks

So I'm into this new build everything is going alright, thanks to finless and his awsome vid's,until I get the solid G gyro. So I set up per finless vid's but during the setup right after the neutral point of the setup the servo starts creaping forward, by the way is it a futaba 9254. So I figure maybe I just need to finish setup and it will all be good, didn't happen the darn thing just keeps creeping forward until it hits the end point then it stops. Now I can move the rudder In either direction seems a little jittery but moves. Has any one else had this problem? Do I have a faulty gyro ? Or am I not doing somthing right?

The solid g does not act like a 611 on the bench. All of mine are kind of jerky on the bench but work great in the air. I suspect your is fine. Have you checked to make sure you don't have any trim on the rudder channel?

yes I checked all the trims they are all good, I was just reading on the cy website about the green qc stickers and I don't see one on mine wonder if they are still doing that?

The units with the green stickers are the newest ones which were cleaned a the factory. The older ones that were cleaned by CYE after manufacture should have a white label on the box that says "This Gyro has been inspected and cleaned." These units do not have a green sticker but are fine to use.

interesting I have neither of those stickers, I guess I will have to call on Monday.could this be the problem? I just bought the gyro at a LHS I know the don't have another and they for sure don't have the Spartan which would have been the first choice, so it sounds like I will not have thave my bird in the air as soon as I thought. But they do have the futaba 611 if I wanted to spend the extra $, and I don't need the servo as I already have one, what a pickle!

I don't think it sounds like that's your problem, if there is a problem at all. I would definitely have it cleaned before using it though. Sounds like you LHS had old stock and didn't RMA it when the notice went out. Give Brian a call at CYE. FWIW, I have not used the Spartan, I'm sure it great, but I replaced all my 611's with the Solid-G. It's a better gyro in my opinion. Holds as well if not better than the 611 and the piro rates are much, much more consistent.
