Newbie here! Have CX2 and Trex450. 450's almost ready to try.
Got tired of buying innershaft at LHS for CX2 at $4 a pop. It's a long way from home to the LHS. Slapped my digital dial caliper on one from E-flite and found they are .078 or 5/64. The LHS has piano wire in 3' lengths (about). Found I can, by using the Dremel, can make about 6 out of each lenght of piano wire. The piano wire cost me about 80 cents. Besides the savings, it's nice to have supplies on hand to make parts.
Hope this is a good idea to share with others. If not advise so I can find another use for the piano wire.:)

you are not the first to come up with this. From what I understand it works great, plus if you can get right pipe stock, you can extend the distance between the two rotors, and it will perform better. I can use ome of the piano wire on my old LHS owner, he talked me into, a CPPro tha twas nothing more than a LARGE bill.
