The info I was trying to get at was the physical size of the 700.

My guess about 10 pounds.... 700mm or larger blades.... 50ish inches in length

700 mm = 27.5 inches.

If the rotor head span is 180 mm = 7.25 inches.

So the total disk will 62.25 inches with 700 mm blades.

It'll probably be about the same size as most .90s. Cant be any smaller for sure :D
Maybe lighter, but boom length should be the same.

Align messed up. It should have been called a Align 50 not a 600N - 450, 500, 600 refer to the ELECTRIC size.

The Align 700 should be an electric otherwise it should be named the Align 90 :)

it really doesn't matter. We lov'em all anyways! They could've called it a The Trex Big Bird, painted it yellow and put feathers on it and we'd still buy it! lol

I think the naming should be based on approximate crash costs ;). It would make things much easier when deciding to purchase.

For example...
trex 10/75/200 for a trex 450 sized heli
trex 75/150/400 for a trex 600

where 10 is a light crash, 75 is a medium crash, and 200 is a :arggg: :). Yes these numbers are just made up. I make sure to always forget how much it costs to put them back together... Actually it comes naturally for me ;).

Guys.... first I can tell you it WILL be a nitro and later they "may" do a electric version. This is what I have heard. Realize guys that if they do this in electric it will be a 10S 3700ma MINIMUM electric! For performance 12-14S will probably be the "hot ticket".

As for the class naming if it was an electric it would run a 700 motor. This will be the 700N like the 600N that came after the 600.

Anyway I am not Align marketing but based on 10S or more, pack cost it would be a NICHE electric market UNLESS something changes with battery cost! When you get to a heli this size, nitro is in fact more economical cost wise... At least TODAY....

Bob,

Realizing that not everyone owns a 600E, but for those of us that do.... wouldn't it make sense to design the 700E to run on 2 6S 5000mAh packs in series?

I personally would buy one the day it came out if Align designed it in this way.

Wasn't that Aligns idea with the 500E.....that we could run 2 3S packs (450E) in series to keep battery costs down.....?

That is my thought on it too. I would be first in line to get one knowing I could reuse my 6s 5000mah packs.

I think this could help the trex 600e and 700e sales because people will know if they buy batteries for one they can reuse them for the bigger heli in the future. When battery costs are where they are for 6s this makes it even more of a big bonus for the 600 and 700 heli.

It is what it is though. I am hopeful anyway that an e will come out.

Well we can debate this to the end of time.... Higher voltage vs parallel MA. In the end that is NOT the point I was trying to make. The point is to fly a good performing 700 heli the packs will cost $500+
In fact 2 flight power 4900's would basically be $600!

So it doesn't matter V vs Ma as that is not the point... The point is the packs that it will take to fly a 700 heli will be a HUGE cost and thus for E-heli a freakin NICHE market! Nitro will be better in this sized heli for now...

I think I understand your point but I think the point I and others I think are trying to make which is also just as valid... don't undervalue the current 600 e heli base on 6s which could be leveraged for more 700 sales without any upfront battery costs for users. I am sure you got that by now but I think it is worth repeating and repeating ;).

Yep but the question is that would Align sell enough e-versions to justify the extra cost involved with designing and manufacturing the different parts? I'm sure that's something they'd think about before diving in and offering an E-version.

There should be a "Frame Class" to designate size. You can hop up Engines, Motors, Blades, Tailbooms, etc. on any model which would technically make it a different "size".
But, getting the different mfr's to look up long enough to listen and agree on something would be futile.

hmmmmmmmmmmm think they should come out with a gasser mod for this heli. or i might just have to get this heli when it comes out and make a mod....always wanted a gasser in the family lol

I want one!!!!! So sexy so so sexy.
As for nitro vs electric. I like my electrics, but Nitro is the way to go in this size bird. Plus the smell and sound of nitro is intoxicating in a 50+ sized motor. My buddies 60 Raptor with a 70OS gives me wood. I can't wait to fly a 90. I'll call it my avaitionviagratherapy!
