Will be interesting to hear the reports on this. Mainly the quality and parts durability.

looks a big beast.
Wonder if an electric version will follow?

As of the last reports, Align had no plans on releasing an electric version. They were counting on people doing their own mods,,,

I just hope the chassis is big enough for a 12S low(ish) kv outrunner to fit. I would love to connect my 6S 5000's in series...

This look nice, I got a chance to see some .90 fly today at the B'ham show, man those can ripe the sky, and it so easy to see, the power is great too, now I know why people like the .90 size heli.
This will be a winner and will get alot of people in the .90 market. Count me in....
Robert
PS: I didn't see a T600E today, all was T600 Nitro, I saw logo 600 v bar, that thing is so quite, I'm sold.

Why is align calling this one a 700? All their other helis went by motor size, not blade size. Is a .90 nitro equivalent to a 700 electric motor?
And Pete, I think its far easier to stretch a 600 than to convert a .90 nitro to e-power :P
unless people start making conversion kits...
I still have 2 600 stretch kits whenever you are ready :D
I wonder if that head will fit the 600.

The TREX 600 uses 600mm blades.

But that is a coincidence. It runs a 600 class motor. Just l;ike the 450 runs a 450 class motor and the 500 runs a 500 class motor.

So the 700 wil be an either or aircraft. Electric or nitro. They just provide the frame?

Where is the converter to convert the different sizes....ie...325-450-600.....30 size...50 size 60 size....90 size?
There is also a 450 size nitro bird out there, 350mm blades, where does that fit in the .30-50-90 sizes?
Is it....
Blade size
Fuse length
engine size "nitro"
motor size "e"
weight
power to weight?
A 90 uses 710mm blades or 700mm work fine too, even 690 are used on a 90.
Too confusing for me....

There is no magic converter since every company follows a naming pattern that may not match anothers. For instance an Align Trex 500 and the Mikado Logo 500s are drastically different sized birds. The Align spins 425mm blades while the Mikado spins anywhere from 500-560mm blades. The Trex500 and the new Logo400 are actually comparable size machines so you can see they are both on diffenent naming schemes although both make 600 size machines. In the 600 size it happens to match because it runs 600 class motors and coincidently 600mm blades.
Clear as mud now huh

Right, so why did Align not follow their own pattern of naming their heli on motor size?

I know we agree on one issue, it would be nice if they all used the same formula for establishing size.

No, it's designed to be a nitro.
This has been repeated many times, there are no plans for an E version.

Why not classify 'em by blade size? That would give a pretty good indication of just how big the airframe is.
i like the blade size classification, makes it 100% clear about the size of the heli just by the name

I agree too, but Trex325 and Trex425 doesn't sound very cool. Also you can fit different size blades too. .90s can fit 690s-710, Trex 600 can go up to 620, even the little ones can vary.

I also agree that the blade size description would be the least confusing. It'd work regardless of it being electric or nitro.

What is a guesstimate of the size of this thing? Blade size? weight? Length?
Pinecone

So what would you call a Trex 450? It was originally only 315mm blades, now runs 315 - 335.
How about Trex 500? Runs 425 - 460 blades stock.
Or a Hurricane 550, runs 475 - 550 blades stock?
Blades sizes are not absolute. Motor size is more so.
