Gyro location

I can see by the pics that some gyros are mounted behind the shaft and some are up front. why the difference?

you got the option of either. holes pre drilled in the frame. its just personal preference.

also it helps balance the heli better up front

If you put the gyro up front the canopy protects the foam mounting pads from all the "gunk" resedue from your exaust, they last longer

I've got my 611 sensor mounted inverted under the radio tray.
Its right under where the tail/ throttle servo slot is.

I filed a bit away from the frames right there, leaving a gap between the radio tray so I could get a velcro strap around it.

If you were using something like a 401, I think it would work good there too.

I'll be getting my K3D soon and was wondering if I need to order a gyro mount for mounting the gyro up front.if so can u plz give me the part# ?

Forget that, thats not Align. You can just take that one you get with the kit and move it to the location in front. This is not a dinosaur that need upgrades. :-)
