Align gov / Trex 600n help

Hey all, I am building a Trex600n and am at point of installing the gov which is the align G600. I am hoping someone can chime in and show how they mounted the sensor. If I mount from inside the sensor is too far away. I tried from outside and it is close but wondered if that is what needs to be done.

Thanks for the pic. I guess I was sorta on right path with the need to mount the sensor from outside instead of in. I am assuming you just cut an area out of fan shroud for the sensor?
