Out of the box, the mechanics were very tight. I went trough it and everything looks fine. I guess it is just the new ball links. We'll see after a few flights.

Is there a carbon push rod upgrade for the tail? What is recommended? I definately do not like the tail rod set up. Not free a bit!

Hey dorfman,

I used a after-market carbon rod setup on my tail. Any product designed for the Rappy's will work. David is not offering a CF TR rod yet (at least I haven't seen it on the site).

On the mechanics,

To loosen up ball links, With the link on the ball, get a pair of needle-nose pliers, and carefully, lightly, squeese the link. Then check the smoothness of the link into the ball. This will make them smooth as a baby's behind. Take your time and don't over-squeeze the links, this could damage them.

On the gear mesh, in the mechanics, the gear mesh is tight (at least mine was) and it will "run in" after a few hover flights.

Let any of us reps know if you need help.

You can either use the squeeze the ball links or what I prefer is to use a ball link reamer to get the proper fit.
This is an issue on every brand of heli that I have built to date.
Plastic molding just can not give truly accurate repeatable sizes, so I prefer them to be a little tight and open them up with a ball link reamer.

Like Rob said the gears should "wear in" after a while.
