Hi All,

Last year I had trouble with my OS 50 Hyper running rich during the first part of the tank, and lean at the tail end. So I decided to get a CarbSmart. I also got an EagleTree to help me get it dialed in. Doesn't look like I needed the Eagle Tree though because look at the job that CarbSmart does.

It's awesome. I flew the first half of the tank with CarbSmart set at 100 C then landed, and reset CarbSmart to 110 C. I can't believe it, but CarbSmart keeps the temp within 1 or 2 degrees.

What a great product. PLUS, I got 11 minutes out of the tank. I've never gotten more than 8 minutes without CarbSmart. RC Heli magazine was right when they said it would pay for itself within three cases!

I love this product!

Keep 'em flying.

LJS - Great Stuff, that's amazing how well it works and all the good stuff I've heard about it.

I put the carbsmart on my 600 Sport, I have not maidened it yet, but I can't wait to break it in and connect up the carbsmart linkage.

Thanks for the great report.....

It took the engine almost 4 or 6 minutes to get up to temp, get the temps up sooner and you'll get a longer flight.

Explain the graph and where your take off and landing is please.

What was the ambient temp? 51 deg F?

Where I live it would already be at 70 or 80, looks cold there.

I'll have it on my Raptor 90 when it goes back up. Next week some time.
It's also going on the Trex 600 with TT53H, got the mount for it today, now I need more parts.....

I'm presuming that his landing, readjustment, and take-off were around the 11 minute mark. The dip in the chart along with the slightly higher horizontal line afterward seems to bear that out.

I agree, but the shut off point isn't clear and the temps don't get going until the 2 minute mark aprox. and stabilize around the 6 minute mark.

I"m glad somebody posted up a graph to show it in action and I have no doubt this device is worth it's weight. I have two of them, I just want to be clear what I'm seeing.

Looks like it's shut off at the 16 min mark? That's 14 min of fly time with an adjustment/inspection at the 11min mark.

Looking better than I had hoped.

Looks to me like his pre-flight took the first 5 minutes (sensor on the data logger normalizing) then at the 5 minute mark he started the engine. I know on my Carb Smart it repsonds remarkably fast (starts adjusting the mixture) about 30 seconds into a hover. Again, I have to assume he didnt start the motor until 5 minutes into the data log.

Chris.

Hi All,

Sorry for the confusion.

- Up to 1.5 minutes was a range test because I just put in a new receiver.
- 2 - 4.5 minutes was me starting the engine and getting the helicopter into position.
- 5 - 10 was me hovering on my cul de sac. Then I set her down and decided to raise the temp to 110 C.
- 10 - 11 was it back in the air. Then I brought her down again to check the linkage.
- 11 - 15.5 was it running at the 110 C setting.
- 15.5 was when she went lean because I ran the tank bone dry.

Keep in mind that I didn't have it at a field where I could fly around. (I had it there earlier, but my receiver went out.) So my test is just hovering.

Next weekend, I'm going to take her to the field and put her to the test with some mild 3D.

Also, someone on another forum pointed out that the temperatures read by the EagleTree are low. 100 C should be 212 F where I was getting 195 F. And 110C should be 230 F where I was only getting 204 F. When I test it, I'm going to set her to 130 C to see if I can get close to the 230 F that I would like to operate at. Even at the 110 C setting, the engine sounded rich to me. I think it needs to run hotter.

I'll keep you posted on the results of my tests. Thanks for all the comments.:YeaBaby:
