Does any aftermarket company or maybe Align make a smaller head buttom for he 600N/? So that when you crash and the grips go swinging around they don't bend. I'm sure people know what I am talking about. I know some people actually remove the head buttom for that reason.

Three crashes on my 600N and 600E and each time the grips rip the head button out of the block. I'm going to just leave it out this time, tired of messing with it.
I do wonder though, is the QuickUK button smaller and will clear the grips?

808 Heli. good idea about the trex 500 button.
Does anyone know if the smaller trex 500 buttom will fit?

sup uluaz I don't see why it wouldn't fit if anything you just need to "mod" the button hole a touch (im too lazy to take it off my 500 to check the screw size)....or just do what anthony is doing and leave it off.........it is just one more part that can fly off though

maybe if enough people ask this guy to make buttons for the 600N he will give in.... These are the best I've seen....

Chuck the button up in a drill, and spin it while putting it against a grinding wheel. Now you have a smaller head button:)
Or leave it off, or I'm sure a machine shop could turn it down for you for probably less than buying another button.

My friend crashed his 600n today. The aluminum blade grips bent when it hit the button. Needless to say, he is leaving it off from now on. And so am I on my 600N.

I leave mine off, its not worth trashing your grips for.

this may be a stupid question but what is the point of the head button anyways? What purpose does it serve?

So you can stop the spinning rotor upon spool-down.

Ditto , just leave it off , put a cap washer on a bolt and put that in there to cover the hole , that's it....

The button doesn't have to be smaller in diameter. It only has to be lower on the head. if you grind about 5 ml off the stem it will sit low enough and the grips will then flip right over it.

True but if the feathering shaft bends in a crash, the grips still might smack into the button.
Just bent a metal 450 grip a couple days ago. No buttons on anything for me, ever again.

I guess that is true, but I assumed people were breaking the grips near the ball link mount when they tried rotating around in a crash. I would think if the feathering shaft snapped and the grip hit the button, it would take the button right off the head. I don't know yet as I have yet to maiden my 600. (couple days):)

get a nylon bolt to replace the steel one. eliminates bending/breaking grips, but makes it a PITA to replace the nylon bolt

I did what was mentioned about grinding a portion of the stem off. It does work, as now the grips can rotate without interference. But,as also mentioned, if the spindle does bend in a crash then the grips will hit the button.
