Been lurking for a while but never posted.
I fly a Trex 450 v2, a Blade 400 and a CX2. No 3D. Just hover and a few loops etc.

I am seriously tempted by a Trex 600 Nitro Pro for the stability and flight time but I'm really nervous about nitro helis. My head says to go for the 600e but my heart is telling me to try something new and nitro.

As a nitro noob, how easy is it to set up the engines? I'm guessing I need to perfect autorotations in a sim before I try a nitro.

Just need a little advice from the long time nitro pilots.

Check out http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=65109 for a good discussion on this - nitros cheap on initial setup but engine probs can steal a lot of flight time - electric - expensive on initial setup with lipos and charger but easier to get going and more predictable - best idea go to a club and hang around guys with both then decide for yourself !

On the flipside, there's the fact that if you destroy a lipo in a crash, you're out about $300, whereas replacing an engine costs 1/3rd less. The thought of losing a lipo in a crash is what got me leaning toward nitro, plus the fact that I don't need several $300 fuel sources to keep flying; a gallon of 30% Cool Power nitro fuel sells for $20 at my LHS.

Join a club, find an instructor that flies Nitro and your dilema is solved. ;)

Ps I love my T-Rex but the nitro sends shivers up my spine still. What a blast.
