I hate crashes and have had my share,
but looks like the damage is not horrible - I hope its not that bad,

to be honest it was dumb thumb, i was doing a chaos launch but didnt put enough pitch in when i took off the deck, so i tried to stop the chaos half way through, and hit the blades in the dirt, which pulled the shaft in 2.

Damage is:
Spindle (i guess, but i doubt its broken, but i replace anyway)
main shaft
most of the head links
blades
swashplate
frames (but not enough to buy a new set)
tail gearbox half where the fin snapped
tail grips
tail pitch slider
KB tail blades shattered into 100's of bits
UC bows and skids

So all in all, a moderate crash, just annoying! the heli is only 20 flights old and has had 2 crashes!

was your first crash mechanical or 3D related?
Don't feel bad - I have crashed new helis. in the first 20 flights as well.

Do you have a rough estimate of the repair cost ?

http://www.rcflightstore.com might have some of the pieces.

those prices mean nothing to me as i am in the UK.

i suspect it will be a mid priced crash, maybe equivalent of 200USD?

Christ dude, calm down!

I'm just saying those prices are of little help because of exchange rates and stuff, thanks for the link though.

Im glad i didnt mention i work for the distributor of the kits in the UK, you would probably send someone round to total my heli for me

Ditto on that....calm down. I don't think he was trying to rip your head off. Kind of makes sense if you're recommending a Canadian supplier to see where the guy lives.

Almost have my 500 ready to fly and 200USD for hitting the ground doesn't seem too horrible. At least thanks to the frames the battery is ok.

Jase I realize you were trying to offer help that's cool, but Ian shows on his location that he is in UK and he was only trying to say that the site is not usefull to him simply cause of his location, I do not feel any haste was intended by Ian at all. Both intentions were good, lets move on from that be well.
