I have a PC that's running RealFlight G-2 flight sim but want to get a sim for heli's that I can run on my laptop (take traveling etc). The laptop is "average" with 1gb Ram, ample processor but only a basic (on-board) video card. What SIM can I use? I'd like to get one that comes WITH a USB controller if possible.
What do you suggest and why?
Allen :)

I'm using a 4 year old IBM ThinkPad R40 at work (read: turd) and use PhoenixRC on it. It comes with it's own USB cable of your choice to connect to your specific radio and it uses minimal resources on your laptop compared to most other commercial sims I have used. It runs flawlessly on my brick of a laptop.
As a comparison, I have several other sims that I have purchased, and the only other ones besides PhoenixRC that will run on this laptop are the freebie sims like FMS or HeliSimRC.
If you decide to go with PhoenixRC, I suggest you purchase directly through their website. It's difficult to find in stock elsewhere and shipping to the US was faster than most domestic orders I place.

I'd second that, I have Phoenix running on a 2 year old Sony Vaio with all the detail turned to maximum and it runs in excess of 60fps (vertical sync enabled so it won't display any faster)

Wow! Thanks for the feedback! That's what I like to hear! I may have to "invest" in that program once I get a controller. I was surprised to learn they don't offer any controllers:arggg:. Once I have one in hand I'll order the sim.
Again thanks for any/all input.
