I am sorry for a dump question guy. I just recently purchased a pair of V-blade TSP and I was bogging my engine with these blades and people told me I had poor Collective Management.

Is poor Collective Management mean over driving my swash? For example, when I do tic toc and I pull my pitch stick up and down to fast.

collective management is the proper amount of collective for any trick. Very little collective is required to do most tricks, and when people are new to them they tend to over compensate with full collective. Any example of proper collective management in tic tocs is as follows. You need a lot of cyclic when doing tic tocs and very little collective. To get that quick popping you see you need to pulse the collective. If you move the collective between full collective and mid-stick repeatedly quickly instead of just holding the collective at full stick you get the benefits of the full collective without bogging the motor down.

What HFG said.

Collective Management is simply controlling or managing the amount of Collective you are using to perform any trick.

If you're flying 3D, you can only use some much pitch before the engine runs out of power. Cyclic pitch and collective pitch are drawing from the same pool of power, so you have to be careful when using both! If you are using a lot of cyclic, you CAN'T use a lot of collective for more than a second or two, or the motor will be overloaded. Pick one.

Most people agree, the method is "light collective, heavy cyclic"

Thanks guy, I am kind of understand now. I used to fly Radix Blade for year without bogging my engine with my current flying style (Advance 3D). I just switched to V-blade b/c I like the noise of it and it was bogging my engine bad compare to Radix blade. Does this mean I had poor collective management before and not even know about it?

What do I need to do to improve my collective management?
Am I just keep praticing the V-Blade untill no longer bogging my engine?
Am I going to have a problem with Radix Blade after I master the V-Blade?

Sorry but anyone who can do true "Advanced 3D" shouldn't have to be asking this type of question. I consider myself a half decent pilot but i wouldn't by any means claim my flying is "Advanced 3D".

Sorry for misunderstanding. I would said, I am trying to learn advance 3D so I need to understand all these meaning and fix my mistake.

A true test of collective management is being able to perform 3D with a lower headspeed.

To me collective management is only using the collective you need to accomplish a maneuver or whatever you need to use without bogging the engine. In my opinion, V Blades require better collective management than Radix for several different reasons. But, once you learn to fly V Blades without bogging you will be a much better pilot because they are less forgiving forcing to only use what you need.

I thought I was a good pilot until I tried V-blade. All the guys at my local club with 5-6 years of flying experience said V-blade is not good. So, I guest they were wrong and I was one of them. I was always thought there is something wrong with my flying style and I started searching for more opinions then found Collective Management and Cyclic Management and I did not even know what these are mean. So, what I was doing before was crazy 3D instead of true 3D. Thank you all, I guest I started open my eyes today.
