What a piece of CRAP this thing is!! :arggg:
I love the quality hardware and the so called hinge system. :BSS

Someone please tell me a decent foamie to buy/build cause this thing is going in the trash!

haha this is to funny. I was spinning in my hand my Rimfire22-1000 that i had gotten for the flat outs and now is homeless because it will never see flight again. Both of my modles Folded at the wing during flight really set the bar high for POS foamies

Are you looking for a indoor or outdoor foamie?

For indoor foamies I like the E-Flite Enticement or any of the Fancy Foam indoor planes.

For outdoor I have flown a couple of E-Flite flat foamies the last one being the Extra 260 the others have been discontinued. I have not tried any of the Fancy Foam outdoor planes but if they fly like the indoor ones they should be good also.

These are cheap and easy to build! Use a piece of Balsa triangle stock down the fuselage to stiffen it and use Hinge tape for hinges. http://www.hobby-lobby.com/yak55.htm

I had the Hellcat Flalat-out, which sucked, but then built the CAP 580, and it is still flying now, 3 months later. I will readily admit that it was a pain in the ass to build, and took upwards of 6 hours, but it flies great with the Rimfire brushless motor.

I would reccomend the ikarus shockflyers. I built one for a friend and flew it last weekend. It flies far slower, and more controlled that the flat out's, and the tail doesn't move around like the flat outs tend to. I was impressed at how well it handled.

Where can you buy the ikarus shockflyers? Everywhere I look, they are out of stock.

Looking for something i can use the rimfire motor, esc, servos etc. out of this pos. Flying inside and out during calm days is fine. Dont care about landing gear but something that goes together quick and can be repaired easily. Around 40-50 bucks maybe? Helis are priority but thought it would be fun to fly a foamie for something different.
Study control linkage's, hinge tape is fine also.

Good idea. How do the servos mount on the hobby lobby foamie? Also, what about the control hinges? Tape I assume?

Oh ya, the foam safe glue I got from tower was useless. Took forever to dry. Any recomendations for foam safe ca?

Hobby Lobby has taken over the Ikarus line in the US as of the first of the year. But it looks like they are still waiting for product. I have a NIB Shock Flyer I would be willing to sell, if you want one right away. Extra, IIRC.

I just hot glued my servos in. They recommend CA Hinges but I found hinge tape easier to install and makes the plane fly 100% better!

For glue I use this: ZAP025 Zap-O Odorless CA, 20 gr. ..... $ 8.80
For kicker I use this: ZAP015 Zap Kicker, 2 oz. Spray ..... $ 5.10

Both are here:

damn, i was looking at the biplane flatout that GP makes. the price is so low, it was very enticing. oh well. maybe i'll rebuild my edf that i crashed upon maiden launch, having gotten some stick time with my trojan t-28. that edf should not have been a first plane anyhow.
