LOCK...
you really really really need to put alot more Expo on that baby... thats how mine used to fly until i did, now its as smooth as silk... The ES600 head is VERY VERY Sensative to stick movements, and really you need to dial up that expo a bit and you'll feel much better flying her.
For the 1500th time (you guys dont read the whole story) I did that on PURPOSE to try to show off the GREEN - I fly much better/stable than that.

 Its gonna take more beers than that :YeaBaby:
Sigh - someday, I'm getting a lot braver around here so maybe soon. I think I'll feel more comfy when I put a real tail servo on her......this weekend I should be putting a 9254 on her. We'll see.....

Lock, it has nothing to do with "Stable Flight" it the very Jerky movement of the heli (Not smooth)
Anyways, just figured i'd give you a suggestion....

Didnt mean to sound rude, I know you are only helping......but yeah I was trying to throw it forward and jerk it back to show the top of the heli better. I will try to get some better vids this weekend if I get the 9254 on her....
so when is your bro gonna film you......bet you have awesome scenery too.

I was buzzing around the back yard as normal with high winds. Pretty sure I have the 9254 dialed in. Went above the trees to blow them around myself (downdraft of blades) was kinda cool BIG gust of wind - heli up up up
I'm in normal mode with a pitch of 40-45-50-75-700
At one point I thought I was not going to be able to bring it down BUT I DID!!
Clean my britches and give me a beer http://static.rcgroups.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Nerves are shot to http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/images/smilies/smiley35.gif
Get back on the horse.......now I put her in idle up...pitch curve = linear and throttle a flat 90......MUCH better......no more normal mode for me....will fly her in idle up with a flat 90 like I do the 400 from now on. The woodies held up fine.
Did I mention get me a beer http://static.rcgroups.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
Will let nerves calm down then out to the front yard and get some vids....

Yeah I know, I know
Well here is the vid idle up flat 90 very windy. Son is almost too good of a camera man he stays zoomed in so much you cant really tell how high up she is. Dont know why the vid is so skinny but oh well here it is.....

Nice job Lock. Big nuts flying in that tight spot with that wind. Love the green, very nice.:D

I agree I fly a flat 85% curve on my Castle 85 HV. Its the only way to go. Glad someone else agrees. 80% in Nor. And 85% in St1 & St2. This gives the control a 20%to 15% head so to speak when loading it up with pitch heavy maneuvers.

Thanks thunderhead......no big nuts......lots of beers LOL
I am wondering what are the pros/cons of flying a flat curve vs. a 'V' curve?
you guys that know have any input?

In my experience maintaining a constant head speed throughout the collective range is the biggest advantage. It also seems more efficient. The motor is not having to work as hard, trying to get the blades back up to speed like it would if your throttle was changing with collective. Having a fairly consistent load on the gear train is also a plus. If I think really hard I may come up with a down side. If you think about most guys running nitro run their birds with a governor, this is what you are doing with the speed control in Gov. mode and running a flat 80 to 90% thrtl. curve. The speed control is sensing more demand from the motor to maintain a certain head speed and adjusting output accordingly. I find all my birds fly much smoother this way and not to mention cooler and longer.:thinking No down side yet. Maybe someone else can jump in and burst my bubble;)

So in your opinion a FLAT is better than a V?

I still fly a 0-100 variation on normal mode and I have a 100-90--85-80-85-90-100 V curve of flight mode 1 and 100-95-90-85-90-95-100 V curve on flight mode 2. I am using an 11 T pinion with the E- smart. I like the V-curve because it gives a smoother response and basically " gives power when needed". A flat 85% will bog down in pitch heavy maneuvers such as tictocs. The V- curve give a lot of head room power wise as the pitch angle of the blades are increased. As the angle of attack of the blades increase, the air resistance increase proportionally. In order to prevent bogging down or RPM loss, a directly proportional power increase is needed to overcome the air resistance. A governor does the same thing but in a different manner. The governor senses increase or decrease in head speed and input the proper amount of throttle to maintain the programmed head speed as desired by the user. With a governor, a V curve or a flat throttle curve does not matter as long as the governor is programmed properly. Anyway, I don't use a governor/governor mode ESC, I rather prectice flying my heli by feel and improve my collective management skills. I also still use a normal curve because I teach other people how to fly and I use the E-smart as a trainer. I do not want a beginner to power slam the heli down when he freaks out trying to hover. That's just my 2 cents

Okay, I will change my flat curve to a 'V' curve and see if I even notice a difference.

You might need to tach your present HS if you are using the stock pinion on 6S. The head speed will be too much if you go over 80%. My settings are on an 11T pinion running on 6S. find a good hovering HS and tach it(about 1650-1800 RPM), remember the stick position value on it and use that as your center point value on the V curve. tach again for your max HS(about 2100RPM or below) and remember the stick position value. Use this as your high points on your V curve. Start tuning with these values. These values are points on your throttle curve to start off with and you can adjust and modify your curve as you fly.I use an eagle tree e- logger to make it easier for me. The 12T pinion on a 6S is too fast of HS that's why I geared down to 11T. I used to be on 10T but the more maneuvers I learn, I realize that the more complex maneuvers can be pulled off with a slightly higher head speed.

I think you should come back too, if I knew you were having that trouble I could have helped. Reading after the fact, I can see things got blown up. I think it was mostly a language barrier.
Anyways I understand, I felt that way in another forum too.......so I will let it rest and respect your decision......but ALL of us in the ES600 forum loved ya, why not just perciptate in that forum?
Well, I did post that I posted Nuttcaze's vid here so maybe some will migrate, who knows.
