hey HowNot2fly, how you been? So last night I brought my battery charger and ES600 battery to work so that I could charge it up and have it ready for a flight first thing in the morning, but while at work the weather report said that it would be raining all day, so I didn't charge my battery, didn't want a fully charged battery just laying around. Well guess what, its a beautiful day with little wind (not that the ES600 cares about wind anyways:fly). So now here I am charging instead of flying:thumbdown:. Well at least I can go get some flights in with my HBFP. Stupid weatherman. Oh and thats not the worst part, we have a festival in town right now and they launch hotair ballons, twice today and twice tomorrw (something like 15 hotair ballons, a really cool sight) I had planned to go watch the launch this morning cause I wanted to vid tape it but I didn't go becauseit was "suppose" to be raining, arghhhh:arggg:

hey Marc ,i sold all my small helis, sticking with es600 ,need to get some more lipos, once i got start swelling up ,also trying to come up with $ for the "panic button" ,my fma fs8 would not work with dx7 so i sold it, i was looking at AP2000i but its on backorder everywhere (and it will be for few weeks) ,i guess only option i got left is helicommend but it cost much as new es600 :wow2: , well , maybe its worth it , save me few crashes and i want to get in to AP later on ,so maybe good investment ,anyway, LOL at the weatherman ,you know you cant trust`m ,they just guessing :YeaBaby:, man, that would be so cool ,strap your digicam on es600 and get some vid of hot air baloons from the air, that would be awsome  , far as lipos ,is there any danger of having fully charged lipos laying around?(other then your attack cats chewing on them LOL) ,is it bad for lipo to be charged and not being used? ,happy flyin` Marc :smokin::cheers:Bang:fly

I have flown my birds both ways and in my opinion a flat curve in Gov. mode high works the best for me. I can see your point on V curves when your teaching it makes good sense. As far as collective management goes it makes no difference. Bogging the the head happens either way if power demand exceeds power available. All I run as far as ESCs are concerned are Castle Creations. They come with a great Gov. mode that is programmable through the castle link software as is every other feature. They are really the best ESCs in the buisness and make setting up my heli's a breaze. Nice to see everyone having a blast with their E Smarts.:cheers

well I changed to a 'V' and being a noob I dont notice much difference but I like the thought of running a flat. My esc does have a governor mode so I will have to research that and get it going.

Yup I think that might be key for me, cause I fly much better in the yard with beers LOL....But John likes to go in the morning, will see about evenings with him and maybe he can pick me up so I dont have to drive (its on his way LOL)

The effect of V vs flat throttle curve will not be noticeable with a governor nor if you are just doing basic hovering or sport flying. You will notice the effect more if you are doing power maneuvers such as toc-tocs, rainbows or tailslides with out a governor.
Nice flying LockMD, I suggest dial in some expo on the cyclics to smooth out your hovering and to dampen your shaking fingers...about 20-30% will do. You can lessen the expo later as you get used to flying.

Now you make me feel bad, I am using 30% :bawl

Are you using the flybar weights inckuded in the kit?, If not, use it. The stock flybar paddles are too light and since you are using the lighter green paddles, the flybar weight will be of benefit. On some people that I teach to fly, I found that lengthening the sticks on your tx. helps a little with the shakes too. If you find the heli is too stable with the weights, move the weights back toward the hub until you get the desired feel. Also start hovering in normal mode first, it gives you a lower headspeed which dampens the response a little bit. Flying in normal mode also makes you better on collective management later on. I fly in normal mode at least once every time I fly just to sharpen my basics and warm up....another plus is if you ever crash or feel you are going to crash.....just throttle down and with the decreased HS, there will be fewer parts damaged.

No, I am not using the flybar weights......infact I toned down the expo from 30 to 20 tonight, I like the way it flies......its just my nerves......I may loosen the sticks as you described though.

I appreciate all comments.....will only make me better in the long run, Thank You.

Oh yeah, I updated it since you DL'ed it. If you DL the current one, it will have a grey backjground and make it look as if your avatar is on the left column area and not an image sitting there. Make sense?
