no idea what happened, all temps were fine, slightly warm as usual, was using a AR6100e, everything still works fine, except the elevator servo, wasn't even far away from myself when it happened, all I can figure is brown out on the Rx, Might have even been the BEC, but yeah this one is being retired, gonna get a semi-metal kit to replace it with.
I orig did the 6100 too.....and I'm sure (from your vids) I've never been as far from myself as you have.....but everyone said DONT DO IT so I switched to a 6200, doesnt sound like the prob.......did your 6100 have 1.2 or 1.6 version? guessing 1.2 have been reports of this with the 6100

My AR6100 is the 1.6 so I don't believe that was it, plus I was fairly close to myself when it happened, but then again the signal might have got blocked due to the size of the heli, a mystery in the end.

Actually, its First Person View. Some call it Fly by Vision (Guess they dont know By is spelt with a B and not a P LOL)
In other words you wear goggles and fly the heli via video as if your in the helicopter. FPV is not
simply mounting a camera forward and recording your flight, its actually flying the heli via video.
Here are a couple vids of people flying via Video Goggles
this guy is really great, its a plank but yeah fun as hell, keep looking you will even
see him fly thru a park and thru a doorway type thing in the park.

This one is heli and you can see the pilot under the shroud. The other guy is just the Spotter and co-pilot to get him off the ground safely. (not really needed)

those vids are awesome, the first for just being amazing, that is one heck of a pilot, wonder how many planes he's lost though? ;)
the second vid is cool because the cam is so stable, eventually I'll get mine to be that smooth
also how are you getting the vids to show up on the page, it never works when I try?

Use use the youtube video code itself not the entire link, its usually letters and numbers
so simply click the Youtube botton in the reply box and paste only the video code in not the entire link.
For instance
This youtube video the link is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16toC6w2wBg
But the actual video code comes after the V=
which is 16toC6w2wBg
so its that part you past in between like this
[ YOUTUBE ]16toC6w2wBg[ /YOUTUBE ]
which yields
16toC6w2wBg
Hope you understand.

at 4:15 you can see me attempt some funnels, but I was having too much fun laying the "smack down" on gravity to keep working on them, alot easier with this then trying funnels on my HBFP

Very cool......loved the nose in approach your getty more and more comfy with her, hey?
You looked to be going pretty far away. Are you still using a 6100?

not on this one, this ones sporting a AR6200, funny thing is I've flown farther away with the one using the AR6100e then this one, but when the 6100e ES600 went down it was only about 40 ft from me, really close.

from today, one of my comps had its hard drive crash this morning and windows movie maker won't work on my other comp, so I used Cyberlink Powerdirector to edit this vid and got those stupid black sidebars , oh well, it is the first time I used the program :YeaBaby:

I'm running a 5S1P 4000mAh battery, telebee gyro and slow HS-422 servos, wait till you see my next flights, I'm much better now.
This heli kicks A@@:banana:banana:banana
I had it out this morning doing my first tick-tocks, flips and inverted tail out hovers (controlled hovers). I had been using the Eco-8 Brushless model on Aerofly pro deluxe to practice, and when I tried today, it was exactly like the sim, so close it was scary, well not really, it was more pure joy :happyd.
The main gears are pretty weak, so make sure you have a few on hand, I went to go fly yesterday but found out that the gear had stripped out 4 different spots :bawl. It must have done it in the flight above. Oh well replaced it this morning before my flights. I love this heli :YeaBaby:

Esmart is one hell of a heli thats for sure.... I for sure am glad i didnt spend 2 times the amount on heli with a T in it :)
Nutt your doing great and progressing very fast (thats how it should be)..... Never tried the servos you have but zero'ing out your expo will move things much faster for you, try to get those loops tighter and tigher until you can do it from a hover :)
have you removed your flybar weights as yet? thats another big factor and taming the beast quite a bit with them on.

You ain't kidding about the "T" helis  lol
OMG, I'm such a noob, I completely forgot I could change the expo for slightly better performance, I dialed it down to make it a bit less twitchy in the beginning, now I'm ready to decrease the expo like you said. Do you see the GIANT noob sign on my forhead :DOH
This heli actually still has its weights on, just never bothered to take them back off, lazy. I'll try that when my main gears get here, I went to take off the other day and stripped 80% of the teeth off the main gear :bawl

I would do one of 2 things prior to changing the expo.
1.. move the weights more towards the center of the rotation (ie up against the ball link on the flybar... this will make it more responsive too just not as much as removing them all together.
2. remove the weight.
i would mess with the exp after getting used to it with the weights off.
I'm still on my first main gear, guess i am just lucky. :) hasnt anyone found a better replacement as yet?

I recently finished my ESmart build and was not impressed with the upgrade metal swashplate. The bearing was just as sloppy as the stock plastic swash. Kind of frustrating after having spent about $160 on digital servos...
I happened to have a upgrade metal swashplate for my Swift that I never used. At first, it seemed obvious that it wouldn't work because the Swift has a 10mm main shaft and the ESmart is only 8mm. However, it turns out that the ball in both swashplates is exactly the same outside diameter (14mm). It was a simple matter to pop out the balls and swap them. The Swift swash looks very similar to the Esky metal one, and the distances to the tips of the balls are identical. However, the Swift bearing quality is definitely superior. It has no detectable slop - in stark contrast to the ESky original and metal upgrade part.
The Swift metal swash is a bit pricey ($40), but the Stock Swift 16 swashplate (metal/plastic) is only $20 - and I believe it uses the same bearing. For anyone thinking about upgrading swashplates, the Swift parts may be a better option than the ESky metal swash.

I'm just a noob so what do I know. BUT, I am very pleased with my all metal E-Sky swashplate.
