I'm using a DX7 7000 receiver 3 -821's and a 9254 for the tail. I've got mine all set up all that's left now is tracking and setting pitch. If the weather gets a bit better I'll test hop it today, If not I'll go to the warehouse Sunday. I've have my DX7 on 4 helicopters now and am very impressed with the way it operates. I know some still have issues ( I had my doubts too) but its that way of the future. I sold all my old 72 stuff on E Bay got pretty good money and just bought more receivers for the DX7.

I'm using a DX6I that came with the B400 and converted all my heli's to 2.4 ghz - it just feels better to me.....
RCMikeT - How do you think one of those DS821's will do on the tail?

I would go a up a notch or two on that end. I fired mine up last night and the tail really needs a strong servo. Here's my final set up as far as electronics. Didnt have the main blades on it when I did but Wow this thing is a beast. Mike

looks nice, think there will be any problem in just trying it, reason I ask is I have 4 DS821's on the way.....I'm sure I will upgrade the tail later but any harm in trying it?

If your talking about the bell cranks theres no issues there if they are set up right. Lock what gyro are you using? The 821 should hold the tail but I would really watch my flying. Its worth a shot. Heres the E Smart, 450 V2 and the King maybe you can get the size ratio. I realize that you guys know how big it is but some ne w guys might want to see. Mike

I'm using a Hi Tech 81MG with the 401 on my 450 V2 and it holds the tail great. I was just concerned with the larger forces at work with the E Smart the 821 might be on the weak side. Give it a shot who knows. Just be aware of the forces at work here. Had a little set back as far as my A123 packs they wont fit in the configuration I wanted to use so I need to rethink this one. I have 5cell 3800 Li Po pack that I'm going to use on the E Smart for starters. I've heard good things about them so well see. Mike

I'm using a 3400G on my 400 and its perfect. had a S9650 it did great and would not say nothing bad about it until the 3400G came along.....it is a tad better. But I dont think it would be good enough for this size heli, what ya think?

My 2nd 600 arrived yesterday, will wait for the metal upgrades to come in before I build her and still need to order some 4 or 5000MAH batteries, if all goes well should be back in the air within a couple of weeks.

As far as cheap battery's my advise. "Buy cheap buy twice". I've had really good luck with MaxAmps Batteries. There strong don't puff and are reliable. The more you buy the bigger discount you get. I've tried several brands Mega Powers are inexpensive but don't have much of a lifespan. Mike

The zippy R and zippy H packs from hobby city are good quality and rivals the TP extreme V2 performance wise. I have been using the zippy-H 6S1P 5000mAH packs for about 1.5 years now and the 4500MAH 6S1P packs for about 2 years and So far no problems. I use these on my trex 600 and E-smart and do mild to medium difficulty 3D 2-3 X per week. Just like any other packs, pay attention to discharge levels(use a low voltage alarm/cutoff device = worth the $$) I also have been using thw 2S 2500mAH zippy-H packs for flight pack. I have had FP's and TP packs fail prematurely and I guess I'm lucky that FP and TP replaced the bad packs within the warranty period. I have seen TP packs burst into flames, and FP packs swell up during charging. At this point in my experience, the zippy- H and R packs from hobbycity.com are good buy. As stated I have had not one fail yet after 2 years and about equal to top brand packs in performance with less than 50% cost with warranty to boot. Any brand li-po packs will fail when abused, even the air thunders and kong powers. Extra care must be observed when dealing with any type of Li-Po's.

nice to hear, any experience with Zippy - K series, those are the ones I have on the way. The ad stated they are the same cells used in Loong-Max batteries (which I love)
