its well known Esky Woodies on any of their birds simply suck..
Best improvement to an esky heli is the blades, I myself got Youngbloods on all my Esky Heli's (Belt CP and some on the way for the Esmart).
you can use Align Fiber as well (not carbon fiber, Glass fiber) very strong and practically indestructable even compared to the Carbon fiber.
But like with any Modification, you will have to shim the blades if your still using the Esky Grips.

I'm flying Mavrick G4 sport 550s' on mine they fly great and don't need any shims. they only cost around 50 bucks and came perfectly balanced. I also fly the mavrick 80mm carbon tail blades they also work really well for about 20 bucks.

you wount find a better blade trust me, i have 325mm youngbloods on my Exi 450 and Belt CP's.
Just checked the root on the Esmart and its 12mm so no need for shims for the youngbloods.
Mavrick are very good blades as well but 550 mm instead of 600mm i like the longer length.

Youngbloods really are fantastic blades, ive run them on the EXI 450 and theyre awesome. I'm getting some V-blades soon to compare, theyre suposed to be just as good if not better, they just dont look anywhere near as nice!

I haven't tried the 600 blades yet. Is there a big difference? Same pinion? How about run time? I get about 8 mins on 4500 6 cell lipo. Not sure about head speed about 2100rpm. Castle 85 HV Gov. mode High @ 85%. Heli flies really well with this set up.

Esmart stock blades are 570mm front tip to tip. (550 from tip to bolt)
YoungBloods are 600mm from trailing edge tip to tip (570mm from leading edge tip to bolt)
From what i remember Mavrick also measures Tip to Tip, so if you buy 550 blades your actually getting
530mm from Bolt to tip, which is already under the length of stock... i maybe wrong you'll have to check
the Mavrick and let us know.
So 20mm longer.... pretty much the same as running 325's on your belt cp over the 315's

The Mavrick blades run 550 from tip to bolt hole, so I am assuming the 600 would be measured the same way. I guess I'll have to try a set of 600's now. Oh well, spending money on heli parts never hurt anyone. Its all for the greater good.:D

Suggest you stick to outrunner motors unless you have a way to fix overheating problems.

That was the one that went up in flames :(
I'm still building this one and wont maiden this weekend afterall :(
spent over 2 hours trying to solder the 12 AWG wire to a deans - seems next to impossible. I will take it to work and have someone more experienced in soldering do that part for me. So, with any lunk some time this week will maiden this one.

Lock,
Maybe your soldering iron isnt hot enough.
First, put the soldering gun on the deans connector and get it nice and hot and drop some solder on both legs...
Then do the same for each of the wires..
then once all that is done, hold the soldered wire against the solder on the leg and heat the solder again, they will melt into eachother, remove the heat and hold for a few seconds and your done.
helps if you have something to hold the deans connector while you hold the wire.
On another note... You bought an entirely new Esmart??? nothing could be salvaged? that musta been one hell of a blaze. Pics would be nice
Yes link to that video would be nice.

Yup a whole new one, and this one I have metal upgrades so they wont melt in a fire LOL
the little than could be salvaged will be just spare parts, pretty much a total loss, with my jaw hitting the floor for 30 secs or so until I realize to run for the extinguisher.
I'll post a link to nutcraze's viedo.....dont think He'll mind.....okay you beat me to it.....I actually LOVE my dx6i, you think there could be a few bad apples as in anything.....?

Lock i have some concerns when looking at the head.
The seesaw thats on teh blade grips, at a certain angle the linkage rod going to the swash seems to touch, have you noticed this?
DierWolf

Here is a pic.
This is with Full Elevator Forward with blades perpendicular to boom and zero Cyclic.
Forward rod then touches the flybar Seesaw block. My bird came with the seesaw on the blade grips on the inner hole, moving it to the outter hole would fix this problem, how is yours at the moment??
