Ok,

After learning to setup my 401 with the dx7 from the videos, it raised a question in my head that really probably will never matter, but I had to ask anyway. Is the gain in heading hold of 32 a percentage or just a point value? If it is a percentage, that means the highest percentage would be 72 percent by my math. If this is just a point value then 72 is the highest point value? At least that is the way I am seeing it in my head. Again, I understand this probably will never need to be that high of a setting, just trying to better understand all the parts of the heli!!

Thanks

32 is the starting gain setting when using a Futaba TX with the GY401 gyro. Futabla and Spectrum have different channel resolutions thus to get the same gain setting on the GY401 you have to enter different numbers. This is further confused by the differences between using the Gyro Sense menu or just gear channel endpoints.

Pretty much just set your gyro for the best performance of your chopper and fly.

What channel is the gain wire plugged into? Are you using the GYRO SENS menu or endpoints to set the gain? If the former, are you using the AUTO setting or a specific switch and did you specifiy the right channel in the INPUT SEL screen?

Jermo's DX7 vid does a very nice job of explaining it all and if you pair that with Finless's 401 setup video, you'll be good to go in about 30 mins.
