Not that DJ needs anyone's sympathy, but I think that what is happening to DJ isn't quite right. No I don't know the details, but I certainly think a strong group of people standing up against something like this is appropriate.

Very sad. I really want to know who is suing him so I know never to do business with, or even recommend them.
:edit:
yeah, not hard to figure out...

Take a trip back in time with DJ, and there is only one "manufacturer" that he disagreed with. It is WELL documented. Started with the first heli he owned as an AP machine. His last post back 9/21/2006 on RR doesn't even BEGIN to show the love that was spread around.

Hmmm, not good. Maybe the supporters of THAT company will want to rethink their purchasing habits.
Some quotes from a few pages on RR that I have saved in my computer. Anyone needing them for a court case to prove a statement is welcome to them.
My Posts This Topic At 2200rpm head speed and 17,500 on the motor I second the above statement. I have seen other brands of heli's throw 800mm blades off at that head rpm. I think you got very lucky. I was told by a rep from V blades they were testing with Bergen and spun the 800's to 1900rpm then wanted to see what they would take. The blade grip I'm told broke and the blade flew off at about 2100rpm. Not putting down any brand that was testing. We don't manufacture these heli's but I fly them every day at 1500rpms with never a problem.
then
Vic told me your dad was testing new 800 blades to see how they worked and Vic was there. This was a couple years ago and he said that at 2100 it threw a grip and blade.
then again,
BTW Vic told me it was at your shop this happened and he was there. It was nothing against Bergen even though I really don't think much of you it was told to me by Vic that it was a test of what his blades could stand.
but the truth,
> Vic Campbell here. I do not how know this got started as far as my telling
> you or anybody else about testing blades at Larry Bergens place because it
> never happened! I have never done any kind of tests that involved spinning
> blades at high speeds!!! All of our tests involved pulling the blades with
> a hydraulic cylinder and load cell attached to see what the roots will
> take in a static load situation which exceeds 3400 pounds. I think that
> you need to clear this up and I will say that what you or somebody else
> probably heard me say was that we tested plastic blade grips and some of
> them failed at 2100 pounds of pull not 2100 RPM! Big difference! Just the
> thought of being around a 810mm blades in a situation where the blades
> were spun at this speed to see if they would hold up is pretty dangerous
> not to mention it would be hard to do in a controlled enviroment! You owe
> Chris a big apology and I think that you should set the record straight!
This e-mail was cc'd to me from Campbell manufacturing, guess who the first recipient was....:)
Of course then there's always the wonderful attempt at blackmail....

How incredibly low and slimy. No way we can support this type of company. Which of his customers will he go after next. You??
You'd have to be crazy to buy his mount.

There is nothing that DJ might have ever said about that goose that the rest of us hadn't already worked out. I wouldn't buy a mount from that loud-mouthed redneck in a million years, and I hope enough other people base their purchasing decision on the type of scumbag he is. He takes "customer relations" to a new low

You did fine posting that.
DJ is a good guy, I have NO doubt he will win and I sure hope he counter sues!
I think he's sueing because he thinks DJ's site has cost him money, but the decision not buy from airfoil I personally made a long time ago, it had NOTHING to do with DJ's site, I didn't even know about his site till very recently, My decision had to do with John's actions and words here and other sites, the guy is his own worst business enemy and doesn't know it.
AF is allways bragging about his nice cars, who knows, maybe those will parked in DJ's driveway soon!
Hang in there DJ! WE are ALL routing for you!
