I measured the voltage at my tail servo with Align regulator : 5.8V
Then I plugged in the 5.1V two way step down, measured again : 5.5V
Isn't it supposed to drop the voltage down to 5.1V?
Is it OK to run the tail servo (DS8900) with 5.5V?
Or will it drop further to 5.1V under load?

I've run a 8900G right off the Align 2-in-1 at 5.8v and had no issue whatsoever. The 5.1v step-down will be plenty.

Was the servo actually attached when you measured it or were you measuring it open circuit? If it was open circuit, the voltage will quite likely drop a little under load. I have the same setup and everything has been fine thus far.

It was open circuit. That's what I'm thinking(check my last sentence), too, but just wanted to be sure. I don't want to loose tail control in the air :)
Thank you very much.

If I remember my semiconductor classes correctly, the diode needs a bit of a load before it drops the full .7V
