Placed my order yesterday for a 500CF and cyclic servos (HS5245MG).

I still need to decide on a receiver (AR7000 or AR6200) and the gyro/tail-servo combo (JR770/8900G or 401/9257 or ???)...

Now I will have to watch the build videos again and start asking questions.

Cheers,
Allen

I'd recommend the AR7000. If you buy a newer one, it has the Spektrum Flight Logger ($25) port, allowing you to log stats about the flight.

Also, with an extra open channel, you can plug in LiPo alarms and such that require an open channel on the receiver. If you have a DX7, you could instead use the extra channel to turn lights on/off or whatever...

Also, I don't know if there's any reason for it, but I've seen more people with static/brownout issues who are using the 6200 than are using the 7000.

Ask yourself: Is a +1000$ heli worth the saving of a few bucks?

I do not know about you, but I would never try to save $30,- on my T-rex 500. I want the best for my baby - just as in real life! :Bang

What does the flight logger port hook up to? I have an eagletree, but thought that only was supported by the 9000....

Thanks,
Allen

Thanks Peter...

I am not deciding based on just money - as you say $30 (or even $100) is just a small percentage of the total cost so I don't tend to skimp... I usually tend to overbuy :o

The rcvr choice was simply about whether or not I need 7 channels. I didn't think there was much difference... The gyro choice is one where I want to get the best perfroming gyro and have heard pluses and minues about the JR. I know the 401, but if the JR is better I will go that route...

Thanks again for the input!

Get the 7000. The 401/9257 holds perfect.
