I have a GV1 set up with a DX7.
The gov is linked to the F mode switch.
normal 1700
idle up 1 1800
idle up 2 1900
Question is, can I have normal as gov off?
If so how can this be achieved?

Set it for an RPM below 999

Will that stop it activating?

Yeah you can. Just reduce the S1 setting in the head speed menu all the way down to off. This should stop the GV-1 taking over once you are past 20% on your collective stick in normal mode. Set S2 and S3 to your desired head speed for idle ups 1 and 2. Make sure you have V shaped throttle curves programmed in idle ups 1 and 2 as a back up incase you throw a magnet or the GV-1 fails and to make sure the GV-1 wont turn off at low stick. You can assign a seperate switch using SWPT but I prefer to use the collective stick to switch it on/off. Check all is working as it should by using SWCD and moving your collective stick up and down. In normal mode it should read 'off', in idle up 1 and 2 it should read 'on'.

A quick set up guide is on www.jkheli.com (http://www.jkheli.com) or www.futaba.com (http://www.futaba.com)

Hope this helps.

Anything below 1000 and it won't activate.

OK so my buddy and I are going to set one of these things up this weekend on his 600n. Do any of you nitro guys run higher than 2000 headspeed with the OS hyper? If so, what do you do, just change the gear ratio in the GV-1 setup to get it to spin faster than the 2000rpm limit?

Thanks,
-C

You have to fool the GV-1 by inputting a different gear ratio - can't remember which way, up or down. This will also effect the speed the GV-1 thinks it's running at below 2000 and also the 1000 disable limit

Ok that's what I figured...
