Urgently need advice before I purchase the lepton today.

The issue I have is can I reuse my Scorpion motor 1600 from my Trex 500 on the Lepton ?
Can the motor size fit, and pinon from Trex 500 with 12 or 13T be use ?

If motor for Trex cannot be use ?
Then which one of tis is better for 6S and 5S ? Kora 15-16 or Hacker A30-8XL?

You can't use Hacker A30-8XL. You will need 12XL for 5S
You can also use Kora 15-14 for 5S or 6S with a small pinion. Kora 15-16 may work too, with a bigger pinion.

Are you referring to the 3026-16 1600KV?

If so you will have a hard time to find the right pinion for a lepton. The smallest I've found in the module of the lepton is an 18 tooth pinion. In order for that engine to run smootly with an 18 tooth pinion we are talking about more than 5000 rpm's

So you better us a kontronic esc :)

No from what I see in the scorpion specs it is not a good match for the lepton.

I currently fly a lepton with a Hacker A30/10xl but as I want to move up to 5S my math tells me I also better go for the A30/12XL as roto is mentioning.

Please let us know what you decided.]

Thank yu for all those that response.

I got the Kora 15-16 with 20T ( a bit high ) but govn it to 70% with Jazz 80.
Lots of power with 6S Align 2500, auw is 1695g. ( very light compare to Trex 500, which I sold )

I did try 80% govn and while flipping it create quite a lot sound and put a lot of stress on the main gear. so I stop and drop it back down to 70% govn.

oh yes, I didn;t mention I did have an additional electronic , cyclock on this Lepton also.
And now moving from middle hole to top hole.

I need to get 18T and 19T. ANy idea where to get them ?

I just got done putting a 12xl Hacker in my Lepton and it is a rocket ship now! Here is my setup...

Hacker A30-12XL w/ 20t Revco Pinion
CC 60Amp ESC
Heculese 5/6v HC BEC
FP EVO25 5S 3300 Mah
MAH 425mm Main Blades
K&B 70mm Tail Blades

Tached it out today at 2600-2700 HS and 11+/- pitch, this bird is amazing! LOL :rolling

I can't wait to get it out this weekend and try a few flips/rolls! I've been waiting on upgrading the power system in this heli before I started doing mild 3D. I've got no more excuses now, :D

I got mine from Modefo's Shop, Wes is a great guy and can get them for you. Readyheli.com also carries the Revco pinions.

That is wire brading...you can get it at any local computer store, used for cable managment.

There are a few online stores that also sell it, just google cable brading or cable managment. I used heat shrink to seal the ends of the brading. :D

Cool, I'll try and grab some tomorrow when I'm in town and maybe post a pic sometime in that other Lepton pics thread you started. I'd like to see some other set ups, most of us probably would...
