During my recent crash I broke one of the body retainers off. It turns out the hole is completely stripped, no threads left. What is the best way to fix this? I don't really want to glue in the new one in case I have to change it again. The threads aren't long enough to put a nut behind it? Any ideas?

You could fill the hole with something like baking power (or other powder) and use thin CA..then drill and tap it again...if you have the tools...
I honstly think if you epoxy it in....you will still be able to get it out by turning it....
Find a blind nut the same size and come in from the back...the blind nut will stick into the hole enough to catch the threads...

What is the body retainer? Canopy mount pegs?
I broke my canopy mount and used an Align 600 canopy mount and its screws from the back. Its plastic and gives way during mishaps and it doesn't hurt the frame like what metal holders do.

I had a body retainer break off on the body, like there supposed to, and I had to drill and use a screw extractor to remove the broken off threaded part from the body. All I did was drill and tap a hole in the broken body retainer and then thread in a screw from the inside of the body. Worked well but I now run the risk of breaking my body as the body retainer will not break off in a crash.

Like bugdozer I cut off the thread and drill and tap a hole in the end of the retainer. This way I can put spacers in to get the canopy to fit correctly.

Can you post some pics please. I want to get the ones that screw on your canopy for added protection. I've heard of canopoes coming off in 3D flight and that's just freaky. I can just picture a shredded cano right after it passes through the spin cycle lol.

One another heli that has similar problem I have made a mod that will hopefully stop this from happening - I have replaced the metal bolt that holds the canopy retainer on with a plastic bolt (I've actually cut half way through the bolts near the head). When I had my first crash with the heli the plastic bolt broke and saved greater damage to the frame.
Cheers,
Mike.
