I am having huge problems with blowing out my tail rotor on my raptor 60's,if its not the pin coming out of the front set of gears( I think I got this one fixed) its the rear set busting all up. Their is a fine art to landing a spinning chopper and not loosing it all. I am using the white gears, and lately tapped a hole in the gear box, and put slick 50 in their, then sealed it back up with a set screw,we'll see. Does anyone have any suggestions? I love my raptors but it is hurting my confidence, not to mention the farm animals that have been victimizied by these wayward birds, Thanks!!

Hi

Had the same probelm as you. i was flying low when it happend. so it cost me a bit of money. when i fixed it i used loctite and CA glue to hold the pins in and i check the front ones after every flight.

Hi

I had 2 let go so I know your pain. After reading around i found the solution is to pack the gears very tight with the shims so they feel notchy. I believe I have 3 shims on the LHS (opposite side to tail rotor). This pushes the gears together. I gae had 30 flights of good 3D and no more failures. Also for the pins I put a thin piece of heat shrink around the gear and over the pin and shrunk it on. I have had the pins come loose but the pin only come out a few mm.

Cheers
