I got a Blade right when it came out back in Jan I think. My buddy got his and it just seems like his has a lot more power. We both have our pitch range set to -10/+10. When I pump it up or down with the collective, it has always been really slow and the head will bog. But his is almost as fast as my Trex 450. I have seen that they are putting more shims in the heli, but have they changed anything else.

Yep!---I know what ya mean---I've got two of these 400's & with identical TX values (both heli's on one TX---DX6i) they both fly completely different---

Have you changed your throttle curves?

Speaking of Version 2, I was at the LHS today and saw an Eflite 40a esc called the V2:

Anybody know what this is all about?

Ah - more power so you can rip the frame apart.

I should be getting a Phoenix35 today or tomorrow to put in my B400. I might do a video of the setup specific to the B400. Finless already shot a complete setup video.

Finless shot a vid of the Blade 400??

Which is better the Phoenix or the Eflite V2, is it all about the amps?

Finless shot a setup video of a CC Phoenix 85 ESC. I think he used an e620 Raptor. The menus and functionality are the same for the whole Phoenix ESC series, so there is no point in repeating that. Only the parts that are specific to the Blade 400.

Sorry for the confusion.

Is there any possibility that the Eflite V2 could be better or more powerful than the phoenix or scorpion esc's?

IMHO, the real limit of the system is the motor and batteries. Maybe a 35A ESC would have a little more punch, but there probably wouldn't be a difference with a 45A and up. It might be better, but probably not much.

My Phoenix 35 came in today and I already have in the heli. I've dome some testing in governor mode and the response is very smooth. Go 1/2 stick, wait for it to spool up and lift off. Head speed doesn't change. I'm still tweeking the setup and will post it when I have the results. I think the governor gain might be a little high because the tail is kicking a little. Also, the spool-up in low and medium is really slow, going to change that too. I got it pretty close though and will shoot come video when I get it figured out.

I have the speed controll you are referring to. It is really for airplane but it would work on a heli but it doesnt have the soft start. Like skigolfmike said it depends on the motor and battery. As long as the amps you are pulling is not higher than the ESC can provide there should be no difference in power although the higher rated ESC would probably run cooler. I think the main reason skigolfmike went with the castle 35 was for the governor mode which the E-Flite does not have. I wish I could find how to program the ESC that came on the heli but I cant find it anywhere. If anyone knows I would love to know.
