WOW is all I can say :YeaBaby: My smile is still on my face even though it very windy today it's so stable, but I think the head speed is too low running 100% at the moment I am running the revco 1st and main gears with an 18 tooth pinion. I have heaps of options with the gearing so I will expairment with it, that is if the wind dies down.

Here are the pics that I took before the maiden Happy flying Allan :clappp

Nice bird! Good thing you're not flying with that carpet in the background...you'll definitely lose orientation, lol! Yeah, with the Revcos I think the 21 tooth pinion will give you around 2200 headspeed and the 22 tooth around 2300. It seems really slugish at anything below 2k headspeed, but yeah it's a HUGE difference compared to a small heli! Extremely stable!

Good luck with and enjoy your new bird!

Where do these wonderful canopys come from? I'm still waiting on my 550 and have a question about wind. your waiting for 18 mile an hour wind to dye down, That I would do, What's the highest wind speed you'd feel safe flying in? Where I work I'm in charge of a 3 story building and I have roof access but it gets a bit windy up there sometimes. I'm gonna set up a wind meter and I hafta be careful since I absolutely hafta land back on the roof (which is a pretty big target).

unless you're a real good pilot..and even then it's not advisable.. don't fly off of buildings.. you have no control over a heli that breaks in flight and can crash into people or property below you.

Good to see another Victorian flying the Huricaine. Mine is nearly 12 months old now and still going stong.

Nice looking heli Allan. I have been flying mine on 6s lipo around 1860rpm and it is very tame. Ideal learner's setup. I am a bit past that stage so plan to experiment with the gearing too. Just for fun I tried it with 9s A123 today (about 2150rpm) and what a difference, it really came alive. The 9s A123 setup is too heavy and the canopy doesn't fit, but it was just that I had a 4s and 5s handy to try out. I have been considering 8s A123 though.

Hey Kepler, I am in Melbourne too (Glen Iris).

On the weekends nobody's around and it's surrounded by (on the weekends) big empty parking lots. Don't ya think it would be kinda neat to see your heli flying below your eye level?

but if you lose control and it goes out of line of sight, your screwed. one thing i've done, at my local rec park there is a pretty big hill overlooking a dirt lot. if i sit up on the hill, the heli is flying below me. that's kinda cool. i wouldn't recomend flying on the roof of a building, though. one rogue wind gust could end your day.
