Hi Fellas

I had just started hovering last Monday evening and hit the Trainer switch to activate the Battery timer but she went into idle up instead, motor started screaming, she went upwards quickly, I panicked and (not tried 3D yet) chopped the throttle down and smashed my just re-shafted smooth running baby into the ground with a thud I could feel in my feet :DOH Just sarted rebuilding coz I was so disheartend and peeved that I couldn't even look at her for a couple of days.
Anyways......
I am positive I tapped the correct switch for the timer (used it before), I wonder if anyone has heard of a similar problem?

Well, it's just possible that you hit both switches at the same time.

Otherwise, I don't think I've ever heard of that happening before.

Sorry about your heli.....

Sorry about your bird It seems everytime you get it really smooth a crash is on the way. Since I am very new at this I did not want a switch that I could accidently hit and make my escape plan (chop throttle) to cause an even worse crash. So I went into thro curve and set position one to 0.0%. when ,if ever. Im ready for idle up I will change it back. I think your reflexes are faster than mine I probably went out of sight. Also I changed my timer to the throttle cut button to stay away from the Idle up switch. I you didnt hit both switches then I would call horizon hobby and let them know.

Sorry about your bird I know its hard when you crash, but next time you'll know what to do. Practice with Sims.
I don't think I heard of the problem you are talking about, I agree with Heli JIm, I think you might have hit both switch same time, it happens. Did you check your TX to see if both switchs were up after crash? I leave all the switches the same ex for hold switch, since I would like to find out what my stick potions where when it crashed.
Any hope you can get your bird up in the air, since I'm working on getting my 400 up in air soon. :)

Sucks to hear, but dont give up. I bet you hit the idle up by accident. Also, you can change the time start button to the "throttle cut" button which does nothing at the moment.

I did the same thing, throttle cut babe. It sucks crashing and knowing it is your fault. I burned in the other day. What a sickening sound to go in on the side. BUT I did not break the canopy, everything else is toast.
