Hi from France,

I just got from Tower Hobbies my 24.Ghz Tx module + Rx for my T14.
Big problem The module and the Tx are zoned. After Upgrade the Tx soft and try the US module in my French Tx I confirm it does'nt work !!
Anybody knows how to get rid of that %#&$*@§ stupid thing.
I know that it can cancel the warranty on the module.

Any help will be appreciated

Alain

Depends on which transmitter you have if you can use it or not. The region code can not be changed in the module at this time. The region code in the transmitter and the module have to match for them to work together.
The software update does nothing to the region code. It just puts in the programming to be able to use the 2.4 ghz module.

As for changing the region code in the transmitter that can be done on some transmitters.
But I would not think you would be able to use it at official field or event your country with a different region than the one your located.

Why would you order equipment from another region that would not match the region of your transmitter?

I read an article where someone changed the region code of his tx with an software utility for an FX40 wich came to public by mistake. It is used by Futabas service unit. He wrote that he had to update his tx so it gets an FX40 identification, run that tool and update back. There where a few issues about calibrating sticks and so on but it seamed to work.

Here is the procedure. I already emailed the OP.

This is the procedure for a 14MZ. I am not familiar with the FX40, so I don't know if it works.

Quoted from another place and time.......

I can't take any credit for this. I got all the info from this site.

http://www.rcfan.com/radios.html

All of the software is there and the instructions also.

Th one I used was in the FX40 section and was headed 1/24/2007.

http://www.rcfan.com/files/FX40/upd...01-24-fx-40.zip

The basic procedure is:-
You need to "Downgrade" your 14MZ to make it think it is a FX40 using the FX40 Update program. This is done the same way as the 14MZ upgrade.

Then run the FX40 UTIL program. this will allow you to change the Region code.

Be careful it will also let you reset everything. I actually zeroed my stick and got no servo movement, then I had to go through the calibration procedure. I learnt a lot that night.

Once you have changed the region code, you can do the latest 14MZ upgrade from Futaba and you are done.

As he says on the web site, you do this at your own risk. I am sure that Futaba won't fix any stuff ups.
