Hello!

My pitch is sligtly - at midposition and 50% at my DX7.
i would like to to have 0 or +1 at normal mode and mid position.
Is it OK to just increase to 55% at midposition in my DX7 or is it not the right way?

Thanks

You would like to have 0 or +1 what? at mid position? Degrees?

You want your swash to be at the center of vertical travel - front horns horizontal and rear vertical - with the tx pitch at mid stick. Adjust the links to the blades to get them at zero degrees pitch. (I use a pitch gauge. Some people eyeball it) Tx should be at 50% for a futaba but I do not know what a dx7 is. Whatever the mid setting of pitch range is.

a setting of 0 would be the best for anyone at mid stick.. that way idle up doesn't make the heli jump and you'll have a little - at lower stick in normal mode.. that can mean the difference in landing or not on a real windy day (found out the hard way)

As already stated it's more popular to set up the TX with midpoint at 0 pitch...I doubt you would even notice 1 deg at midpoint...

And you can put just enough neg like 3 -4 neg to get it back on the ground...

I have now around - 1 deg at mid position and would like to have 0 or +1 deg. i only fly normal mode. An easy way would by just to adjust it in the dx7. Would that be wrong?
I dont like to mess with the links,, then it īcould be out of track and its perfekt now.
is this totally wrong?

Thanks

adjusting in the DX7 is a great way of setting your curve

if it tracks perfect now, then if you need to make adjustments to get to +1 at center stick (or 0 pitch, whatever you're going for) then just make sure to adjust both links the same amount, ie: two clockwise turns each link, one counterclockwise turn each link ect.

just a little tip, get used to flying in idle up. if you get used to flying in normal, it's way harder to get conditioned to flipping into idle up every flight when your ready. plus when you progress to loops and rolls, normal mode will usually end you up eating dirt. idle up is way way better too with a faster HS. you'll get used to it.

Yes, you can do that. But you really should take the time to get things setup properly. Makes life much easier long term.

Arne,

It sounds as if you missed a step in the process - when setting up the heli you should set up your servos so that when your throttle is set at 50% then the servo arms are level with these reference points - for pitch and elevator the top of the arm is parallel with the lines on the frame (green lines) and the elevator arm is parallel to the mainshaft (yellow lines). If you get these correct the you are at half point in the swash travel and your swash is level.

Cheers,
Mike.

Thanks, but the angles seems ok, but I have slightly neg pitch at midpoint stick. That is what I whant to correct. The question was if I need to adjust the links or if I can do it the easy way in the DX7.

If your swash is flat and level at 0 degrees then the only link that you need to adjust (that you can adjust) is the long link going up to the mixing arms.

Doing anything to the Tx is not the "right" way of doing things - you should aim to get your heli set up correctly "mechanically" (.i.e. all of the links and angles etc.), and then trim the heli with the TX to fine tune it's behaviour in different situations (varying wind, different packs etc.)
