I will soon have a L14 and I am looking for advice on my power options.I plan on running a jazz 55-10 32 on 10S and for a motor I am considering a Plettenburg 300/30/A3.If anyone has experience with this combination,I would appreciate input on gear and/or pinion options.

I would consider the Orbit 30-12 Heli Expert on 16 tooth before that one for sure.

Use the stock Mod.7 gear yes, there are .5 included in kits to I think still, make sure to yse the Mod.7 15 tooth will be likley more than adequate for hard 3D, 16 tooth crazy if you want it. 14 tooth for mild / learning or sport flying though. That should cover it. ;)

Well depends on your budget of course but as far as fit goes, you can fit the FlightPower 3700mah and 4350mah also fit in the 10S1P stick fashion, if you can afford the 4350s you can get 5.5 mins easily out of that pack on the 14 and that is pushing the heli hard. 6-7 mins of sport flying easily, maybe even 8 minutes.

What difference is there between the 30-12 Standard and Expert versions? Power, flight times etc?

Hey,

the HeliExpert runs much cooler, has more torque and revs higher than the normal 30-12.
We have it around 45-50°C after flight in summer.

also it pulls a little more amps
