Yeah, I'm back, even sooner than you had feared!

If you'll remember I had the Firefox on order, just to play with, and see the chassis. Long story short, Read-Heli calls me up. The beasty has been discontinued, do I still want my pending order? Very sorry for the wait, sorry to call (I fat-fingered my phone number, and they had to chase me down by calling all the possible numbers!) Would you like a GAUI 200, and we'll offer a modest rebate for your problems, we will ship it today if you'd like!)

<blink!> <Core-Dump> <reboot> Freaking awesome. First rate followup and support Ready-Heli!!

I'm back in bidness guys!!! YYYYEEEEHHHHAAAA!

Soo, my suggestion is, get out of the Firefox/Pixi/Zap line, or stock up on parts while you can. I have 2nd hand info that the entire line of 100's is going out (not from Ready-Heli, other source). 2nd hand (don't ask) also recommends the 200 as the only micro worth macro beans, and whilst you guys have sold me, I've just been freaking converted. Just watched his 200, in person, no u-tube, do stuff that you would not believe, in a 10'X15' room.
WOW, ..And NOT a recommendation to try by anyone else, by anymeans, and way, way, way beyond my ability. I was also sent Buzz's vid in his garage, and that is AWESOME!

I'm leaning toward the Logitech 2100/3100 combo, for the gyro/tx, and almost dead set on the ar6100 for the reciever, but open to suggestion on everything. What about cyclic servos?, I know how to simplicate and add lightness, just costs more. 45's, bluebirds? I'm thinking 3.x grams per servo vs 8grams might start making some diff here, but then, what about the servo horsepower required to mash around in 3d?

... Oh, and thank you guys, for the PM's! Good chatting with you, You are all totally crazy, and really should be locked up in a secluded place with armed guards, but thanks for your comments and advice!

Just for the record that was Nick Maxwell flying in the garage (looks like I just got my 15 min. of fame and I missed it). You'll love the 200.

Okay, bud, you get the award for the most entertaining posts on this forum! And from Waxahachie, even! Thanks for the literacy and the laughs.

I'm a newbie at all this. I have the Logictech 2100/3100 gyro/servo, the AR6100 receiver, and on the cyclic HS45s, which are a perfect -- and I mean exact -- fit. Reading Nick Maxwell's post on YouTube, he has a Futaba GY401 gyro with 3154 on the tail and Dymond d47s (http://www.gobrushless.com/shop/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=D47SERVO) on his cyclic, which are both smaller and lighter. Says he prefers them because they center precisely, which in his opinion is more important than speed. My guess is that he'd know.

:rolling:thumbup::smokin:

Those dymonds are mighty small but high quality, my servos haven't all come apart so i'll sit on them for now

Thanks guys!

I obviously enjoy this stuff.

So many aspects to the hobby. Flying, building, dinking around with tx setups, and of course this on-line hairball of mass lunacy ;-)

Far cry from the old days..

I started off on the old Compuserve AVSIG, back in the day when a 300baud modem was an upgrade and real men soldered a clock chip in thier computer.

We had flame wars the would last for months and take down servers! Not much fun....

Now I think we've all grown up a bit and our society has created the social ettiquette for fun chats without so much fuss.

But back to the point, I'm really getting locked into the suggestions on servos and gyro.
I'll get the bird built as soon as I get back, send photos ect.
