I'm real new here,.. and am hoping that this is in the correct spot..?
I currently have a pair of E-flite Blade CX's and am looking for an indoor co-axial that's a little bigger,..so I can continue my preparation/training toward a single rotor heli...
Specifically the question is...I'd like to find some folks that own one or more of the Exceed Blazing star helis,...So as to get a bit of a consumer report...
Can anyone give me some of the good, the bad and the so-so of this newish little co-ax copter..??
Thanks a bunch guys,.........................................Dave ..

Art-tech makes a coax that is bigger than the cx, but you might be better served spending that money on a quality simulator. Coaxial helicopters do not behave like single rotor helicopters. Their inherent stability makes them ideal for indoor use or novice use, but flying a single rotor helicopter requires different control input. The only way to learn the finesse required for a single rotor helicopter is either flying (and crashing), or using a good sim to hardwire the input needed to control the helicopter. Coax helicopters can be fun when the weather is bad, but as I found out, they don't help much with learning the single rotor helicopters. The very first time I tried forward flight with a single rotor after flying a coax, I crashed horribly after spending three minutes chasing the helicopter all over the sky. When flying a coax, you have to have constant forward cyclic, and when you let go, the helicopter settles in to a hover. With a single rotor, you push the cyclic forward, and then need to pull back to arrest the forward speed gain. You let go, and the helicopter will just keep going. Just way different flying. The sim just lets you learn a lot faster with less expense.
As far as that Art-tech coax, I do not know about it's quality, just that it is about the size of a 300 class helicopter (Blade CP, Axe CP, etc). The Exceed looks better and is the same size as the Art-tech one.

I'll agree with Jason, buy a sim or save for a stable pod and boom heli., the bigger you can afford, the more stable the heli will be. Just remember that the bigger the heli, the bigger the cost of WHEN you crash. Good luck and get ready to have some fun, and hey, we ALL crash! Matt
