Well, I completed the upgrades of the G401, 285 & 3400g servos.
The problem I am having is the G401 is not beeping telling it is armed. The light does come on solid but never beeps. Anyone else have this problem
Second, for you that have the 3400g on the tail. when sitting still, does you servo move slowing to the rear automatically.
thanks for you help.

The beep is from the motor when the ESC arms, the 401 doesn't beep. The solid light means it's ready to go. if you disconnected the motor when setting the gyro up, you'll get no beeps.
Don't worry to much about what the servo does when sitting still, how does the tail behave in flight.

You might try and re-bind the tx to the rx
I didnt think it was a big deal at first but as Sokal learned me it does need to be done. Now anytime I tweek any physical setting on the tail, I rebind before flying.

Are you making sure to initialize in HH mode? If you apply power to the heli with you radio switched to rate mode it will not initialize.
It also sounds as if you may have some rudder trim dialed in on the radio. Hence the moving of the pitch slider when standing still. Could be the problem...
Rebinding never hurts but go through your radio first and make sure to remove all trims on any channel and check to make sure you have enough Trav. Adj. to tell the gyro you want HH mode.
I'm assuming your using the DX6i...right?

He stated the light turns on solidly - which means he's in HH mode...

Nope. If he's in HH mode (which he is), the rudder may wander on the bench. Perfectly normal.

Thanks for the help. the arming problem was that I did not have the motor plugs in.
How do I rebind the tail servo?

Man, that could have been ugly!
Imagine you would have gone out there and flown around when you all of a sudden realize that your motor wasn't plugged in! Could have been one ugly crash!

yeah that would be a problem LOL
its not re-binding the tail, its re-binding the rx/tx although it has something to do with resetting centers too......not sure I understand all the ins and outs, I just do it LOL
use the bind plug that came in the kit:
plug in the batt spot on the rx
plug in battery (BEFORE tx) rx should be blinking fast
hold timer switch while turning on power to tx (I usually hold the switch until I hear the 2 beeps)
unplug battery
turn of tx
pull out bind plug
Done.

The reason you rebind is if you lose signal from the tx the heli will go to the settings you used when you bound it . When I first got the cx2 i accidently bound it with the throttle wide open because I did not know anything about it. Well It did not take me long to accidently turn the radio off without unpluging the heli. You guessed it in my living room up against the ceiling and no idea what was going on. my wife finally trapped between a chair and her leg. I got to look at that scar for several weeks. So be SURE of your tx setting when you bind.
